WOW! A LOOK BACK AT 2013

Somebody pinch me! I can't believe Christmas is now behind us and New Year's Eve is right around the corner. I hope all of you enjoyed the holidays with friends, family and loved ones. My favorite thing about the holidays is smiles, laughter, the warmth of human interaction, music playing everywhere and of course eating great food. If you think about it everything I just listed could be experienced throughout the year and not just the holiday time. So, if you're not doing so already, why not make that one of your New Years resolutions.

As 2013 comes to a close it's fun for me to look back over the past year and think about the songs and artists who had a significant impact on us. So with that in mind, our last show of 2013 will be a bass thumping heart pounding journey including a 2013 Mashup that will knock you out!

Don't worry! I wouldn't think of throwing a weekend party without the latest HK remixes on BastillePitbullAviciiMileyBrunoEllie GouldingCalvin HarrisRihanna and Eminem. Plus I'm packing new joints from Travie McCoyNeighbourhoodCash Cash & Bebe RexhaMartin Garrix and more!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to one and all. May 2014 bring you health, happiness and success!

HOLIDAY STRESS RELIEF!

The holiday season brings many a party but anxiety can also creep in with finals, travel, buying gifts that burn a hole in the pocket and the much talked about and oh so special “Family Stress”. Don't worry though, cause In The Mix with HK is gonna kick that holiday stress to the curb. I mean, we are here for YOU! And the experts have our back.  Mayo Clinic says in their “Tips To Tame Stress” that “listening to music is a good stress reliever because it provides a mental distraction, reduces muscle tension and decreases stress hormones” they go as far to say “Crank up the volume and let your mind be absorbed by the music”.  Oh yeah …I’m gonna be crankin’ up the volume this weekend with an all out sonic assault on your senses.

Look at what I'm putting under the tree for you. Brand new mixes on Avicii-"Hey Brother", Travie McCoy & Jason Mraz-"Rough Water", Ellie Goulding-"Burn" and Lady Gaga & R.Kelly-"Do What U Want". I'm also filling my Santa sleigh with exclusive never before heard versions of Lupe Fiasco & Ed Sheeran-"Old School Love", Imagine Dragons-"Demons", American Authors-"Best Day Of My Life"and Lorde-"Team". My bounty of musical presents is sure to excite when I unwrap the likes of ZeddRihannaEminemBastilleSara Bareilles and more.

Selena Gomez has been entertaining us since she was six years old. Perhaps that's why we all feel we've known her our entire life, even though she just turned twenty-one!

This young pop music star has also conquered the worlds of TV and film and she's been bringing her triple threat talents to audiences around the globe with her first world tour this year. Make sure you tune in this weekend for that, plus killer new HK remixes on Bastille - "Pompeii", Pitbull & Ke$ha - "Timber", Jason Derulo - "Marry Me" and I'm gonna wreck Miley Cyrus's "Wrecking Ball". GIVING THANKS FOR BEATS, BREAKS AND BANGERS ON IN THE MIX WITH HK!

It is Thanksgiving weekend and we have so much to be thankful for this year. In addition to friends, family and good health - Can we talk new artists! This year’s hot new artists were droppin’ like my needle on a brand new 12inch. When I was a kid I was thankful for Mac & Cheese (actually I still am, that s*** is good). Now I’m thankful for Mack & Ryan. What would the year have been without “Thrift Shop”, “Can’t Hold Us” and “White Walls”? Dang, that dynamic duo is killing it! Also, big thanks for Lorde, as I predict she is going to be the gift that keeps on giving. Joining the busted out in 2013 party are AviciiFlorida Georgia Line, Ariana Grande, ZeddPhillip Phillips, Imagine Dragons and so many more. Thank you music Gods!

This Thanksgiving weekend I’m giving thanks by officially kickin’ off the holiday season with an In The Mix with HK™ throw down you don’t want to miss! CAN THE AMA'S TOP THE VMA'S POST SHOW HYPE?

Who will we be talking about on Monday after the American Music Awards? Can Miley Cyrus best her media frenzy from the VMA’s? With a who’s who of the Pop machine performing Sunday evening it is anyone’s guess. Of course we can always count on Jennifer LopezKe$ha and Lady Gaga for bold clothing choices but who will bring the best vocal performance of the night? Wow, that is a tough one. Christina Aguilera (God, I do love her voice) has the pipes to shut down the competition. Still, Katy Perry without question can “Roar” and lets not underestimate the power of the “I already know I won a mondo awardo so I’m just gonna kill it performance”.  Could it beRihanna after being honored with the first time ever AMA Icon Award? Experts say that may just boost Riri’s delivery and ego to literally blow the roof off the Nokia Theater.

In my pre AMA throwdown I will be blowin up your woofers with a power packed all-star remix! Tune into In The Mix with HK this weekend for AMA nominees like you have never heard them before! Plus custom HK remixes on One Republic – “Counting Stars”, Ellie Goulding – “Burn”,  Justin Timberlake – “TKO”, John Newman – “Love Me Again”, Zedd featuring Haley Williams – “Stay the Night” and you’re definitely gonna want to “Marry Me” when you hear Jason Derulo’s ballad turned into a honeymoon banger!

IS IT ALL IN THE NAME?

Being a pop star isn't just about hits and talent. It has a lot to do with image and that includes the artist's name. If you are the next Katy Perry and your name is unattractive, dull, difficult to pronounce, unintentionally amusing or just plain…"What were your parents thinking?" - You may want to get a hipper name. Would Onika Maraj have sold over 5 million albums globally if she hadn't become Nicki Minaj? Would Avicii be as cool as Tim Bergling and let's all agree Lady Germonotta just doesn't have the same ring as Lady GagaJason Derulo was fine with his first name but I'm so glad he didn't go with his last given name of Desrouleaux. My tongue is in a knot just thinking about it. Stage names are a part of the star package, but how do you go about getting your new power name? Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O'Connor says she was into royals and aristocracy since she was a kid and thought Lord was super rad but too masculine. So, she put an "e" on the end of it.

Coming up this weekend on In The Mix with HK™ I'm gonna avoid getting lost in the name game and opt to take you on a musical journey instead. Tune in to hear my custom tasty nuggets on The Neighbourhood - "Sweater Weather", Lady Gaga - "Applause", Katy Perry - "Roar", Zedd & Haley Williams - "Stay The Night" and the brand new banger from Travie McCoy & Jason Mraz - "Rough Water". You'll need plenty of fresh water to cool down after I burn up the floor with new fresh takes on Eminem, Rihanna, One Republic, John Newman, Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus and Cash Cash feat. Bebe Rexha.

There's plenty of bangin' beats and fresh remixes to go around so bring the gang and don't miss a single second of my commercial free music sets. It's all your faves like you've never heard them before!

EMINEM AND RIHANNA ARE MONSTERS IN THE MIX WITH HK

Eminem’s album The Marshall Mathers LP2  dropped earlier this week and is set to hit #1 and grab the second biggest sales week for an album this year. He is also now the first lead artist to nab four concurrent top 20 hits on Billboard Hot 100 since the Beatles did it in 1964.  Slim Shady is spreading the love with his track The Monster featuring Rihanna. Giving Rihanna her 25th top 10 and tying her with Elvis Presley in 8th place for the most top 10’s in the charts history. Now that is a MONSTER hit!

I’ll be killing “The Monster” this weekend on In The Mix with HK! Get ready for a serious throw down with custom HK remixes on One Republic – “Counting Stars”, Pitbull featuring Ke$ha – “Timber”,  Lorde – “Royals”, Bruno Mars – “Gorilla”, Lady Gaga featuring R Kelly – “Do What U Want”,  Avicii – “Wake Me Up” and so much more. It’s a monster of a party that you don’t want to miss so check you local listings!

TWERK OR TREAT ON IN THE MIX WITH HK!

Thousands are dressing  as Miley Cyrus in her VMA Teddy Bear outfit this Halloween including Paris Hilton and Mrs. Hefner to name a few. Since Miley has already “Been there done that” she chose to go as Lil Kim from the 1999 VMA’s. Hmmm… was that her way of saying “hey look , I’m not the only barely clothed singer to make headlines at the VMA’s? For those of you who don’t  remember Lil Kim’s ensemble…. it was a striking purple jumpsuit with a teeny tiny pasty being the only thing covering one of her Lil Kims. My personal fave Miley inspired costume  is Jenny McCarthy’s very large version of Miley’s out of mouth tongue. Jenny is said to be craving sledge-hammers all day.

I will definitely be putting the hammer down on the decks this weekend. The Halloween parties are going all weekend long and I have a custom remix of Miley’s “Wrecking Ball” you don’t want to miss. That also goes for my crazy jacked up versions on Lady Gaga -  “Applause”, One Republic -  “Counting Stars”, The Wanted – “We Own The Night”, Calvin Harris – “Thinking About You”, and Bruno Mars – “Gorilla” will be “Roaring” like Katy Perry.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE IS REMIXED AND BLOWIN' UP ON IN THE MIX WITH HK

Justin Timberlake has been all over the news. Kinda like Miley but different. First, did he get hair plugs or didn’t he? Then, JT is postponing his 20/20 Experience World Tour launch. It's now been set for Nov. 6 in Brooklyn NY rather than Montreal. Reason given was “more time is needed for rehearsals”. Would a little more rehearsal time have helped his box office flop “Runner Runner”? Don’t think so!. Still, JT probably isn’t sweating that flick when he is busy making room on his mantel for a potential 5 new American Music Awards (to be handed out on Nov. 24th). Or, when The 20/20 Experience - 2 of 2 gives JT his second #1 album of 2013. With 2.7 million copies sold in the US and 4.75 million in Worldwide sales, JT has now become the #1 Best-Selling Artist of the year!  Which brings us to my blazin’, jacked up, not to be missed remix of JT’s “Holy Grail”.

Tune into In The Mix with HK this weekend for JT like you've never heard him before. Also on tap are my bangin’ remixes on the brand new smoker from Enrique Iglesias – “Heart Attack”, The Wanted – “We Own The Night”, Imagine Dragons – “On Top of The World”, Capital Cities – “Safe And Sound”, Lana Del Rey – “Summertime Sadness” and Awolnation – “Sail”! Then just when you think you’ve hit the top… I’m pushing you over the edge with customized HK eargasms on EminemDrakeZeddBritneyPittbull and more!

THIS WEEK IN THE MIX WITH HK!

WOW! What a crazy week. Our government continues to fail us, while we continue to pay them. Kanye and Jimmy Kimmel have a very strange face-off and reconciliation…kind of, sort of! My old friend Coolio ("Gangsta's Paradise") hangs out in a London dorm room and cooks and jams for college students after a concert. Bruce Jenner gets out of his marriage and crazy life with the Kardashians. Mariah Carey tweets a picture of her twins, and I'm not talking about her kids, to hubby Nick Cannon and the world to see. Joe Jonas disses Lorde on Twitter and then he and the rest of his brothers cancel their just recently announced concert tour!

I'm gonna do my best to bring some sanity to a week of craziness by unleashing my musical mayhem this weekend. I've got all your fave hits like you've never heard them before and plenty of exclusive HK remixes and sonic bliss to bring your weekend to frenetic new heights!  Get ready for brand new eargasms on Miley Cyrus - "Wrecking Ball", Awolnation - "Sail", Selena Gomez - "Slow Down", Armin Van Buuren - "This Is What It Feels Like" and Drake- "Hold On We're Going Home". You don't want to miss Pink - "True Love", Sara Bareilles - "Brave" and my re-imagined takes on Rihanna - "What Now" and Lorde - "Royals". Plus EminemAviciiFifth HarmonyTegan & Sara and something brand spanking new from Ellie Goulding.

I'M GONNA SHUT IT DOWN!

So let me get this right…the people who run our government don't have to go to work cause they can't agree on a spending bill. Yet, when all is said and done – after days and possibly weeks off they'll strike an agreement and pay themselves retroactively. Plus keep those amazing government health plans. Yeah that's right! And it's all paid for by you and me. Wouldn't it be great if you got paid to stay home when you couldn't agree with your co-workers! Wait…that's crazy…and exactly my point. Hmmm, PEOPLE – why do we continue to let this happen. Speak out and contact your politicians.

In protest I'm gonna shut it down this weekend. But don't worry, that's a good thing! I'm gonna "Roar" with my latest remix of Katy Perry. We're gonna feel like "Royals" with Lorde and we'll console each other about our "Summertime Sadness" and impending "Sweater Weather". I'm hoping to make us all feel a little bit "Closer" and "I Wish" I could keep it going "All Night". There will be a point in the evening where you'll say to yourself "What Now" HK. Don't worry you're not going "Berzerk". The "Demons" in Washington will get this resolved and once again all will be "Safe and Sound".

So tune in this weekend and find out what all the "Applause" is about.

Remember…If it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix with HK™.

LORDE RULES IN THE MIX WITH HK

Ella Yelich-O’Connor better known by her stage name Lorde is blowin’ up on the music scene. This sixteen year old singer-songwriter from New Zealand has already drawn comparisons to Lana Del Rey and Grimes. She also just took the #1 spot on Billboard's Digital chart with “Royals” and her debut album “Pure Heroine” is about to drop. There’s a whole lotta buzz about Lorde’s talent and potential staying power. Do you think this little Kiwi is going to be shaking things up for years to come? Hit me up with your thoughts.

I’ll be shakin’ things up with a custom HK remix of Lorde’s Royals along with a musical menagerie of your favorite hits In The Mix with HK this weekend. The needle will be droppin’ on new remixes on Avicii – “Wake Me Up”, Capital Cities – “Safe And Sound”, Krewella – “Live for The Night” and Selena Gomez – “Slow Down”. But there ain't no slowin’ down when I tear it up with PinkEminemKaty PerrySara BareillesIcona PopLady GagaImagine Dragons and more!

ICONA POP IN THE MIX WITH HK "ALL NIGHT"

Through the years Sweden has provided the world with a lot of great pop dance music. In fact two of the countries current hottest exports are blazing a trail up the american music charts as we speak -  Avicii and Icona Pop.

Icona Pop is currently on tour in America and I had the pleasure of checking out their show as well as hanging with the girls (Caroline and Aino). After being dumped and heartbroken these gals found each other through a mutual friend and in just 24 hours over a bottle of wine and a laptop their first song was written. "I Love It" was one of this year's anthems and "All Night" is poised to follow in it's footsteps. Their live show is fantastic, get out and see them. In the meantime, make sure you're listening this weekend when I'll be talking with Icona Pop and featuring my latest reworking of their song.

In addition to the sweet duo from Sweden I'm bringing the boombastic beat of Eminem's new one "Berzerk". Plus killer new remixes on Katy Perry's - "Roar", Awolnation - "Sail", Lady Gaga - "Applause" and Tegan & Sara - "Closer". My sonic pleasure knows no bounds when I take the brand spankin' new Britney Spears single "Work Bitch" and work the s**t out of it. Plus LordeMileyAviciiMack & RyanKrewellaEnrique Iglesias and more!

MILEY! MILEY! MILEY!

With talk of Miley Cyrus’s performance at the VMA’s now down to a low hum she wasted no time in getting the media machine bangin’ down walls again with this week’s release of her Wrecking Ball video. It broke the record of most views on Vevo in a 24-hour period. And if that title isn’t enough to talk about you may have noticed she is COMPLETELY naked in the video. I like the video, I mean, she is very easy on the eye and it’s a great track, but being a bit of a germaphobe I have strong concerns about the sanitary condition of that ball and chain. And what was that sledgehammer bangin’ before Miley got a hold of it? I’m just sayin’. Then to add to the media frenzy just yesterday she stepped out on the streets of London in a black bra and VERY sheer pants revealing that she was not wearing underwear! I just can’t get enough. What will she do next!?! Well, On Oct 5th she will be musical guest and host on Saturday Night Live and on Oct. 8th her much anticipated album Bangerz drops. But I’m sure she will grab a few more headlines before then. Busy girl? I should say so.

I’m gettin’ busy In The Mix with HK™ mixing and remixing Miley’s current banger “We Can’t Stop” as well as Lorde – “Royals”, Paramore – “Still Into You”, Maroon 5 – “Love Somebody”,  Avicii – “Wake Me Up” and Calvin Harris/Ellie Goulding – “I Need Your Love”! There’s way too much to tell you about here, but get ready for more audio audacity with my exclusive remixes on new joints from Katy PerryEminemSelena GomezLady Gaga and more!

EMINEM IS BACK AND IN THE MIX WITH HK

Actor, songwriter, record producer and innovative rapper Eminem is finally back with the dropping of his brand new single Berzerk. Not only is he back on the scene but he is taking no prisoners as this latest release sold 362,000 copies last week. Berzerk is doing it old school with samples from Billy Squire and Beastie Boys. It’s infectious hook combined with Eminem’s wicked staccato flow assures this one’s gonna blowup. It’s just a taste of what is to come on Eminem’s upcoming eighth studio album, The Marshall Mather LP 2, hitting stores on November 5th.

You can hear this hot new single with an HK twist when I go Berzerk this weekend In The Mix with HK!

Buckle up for custom remixes on Lorde - “Royals”, Anna Kendrick - “Cups”, Lady Gaga -  “Applause”, and giving equal time to all Divas I have Katy Perry’s “Roar” amped up  like you've never heard it before. We'll be getting all kinds of patriotic with Bonnie McKee – “American Girl” and Demi Lovato - “Made in The USA”. With ParamoreJustin TimberlakeRobin Thicke and Calvin Harris all In The Mix with HK this weekend the hits just keep on comin’.  As Miley Cyrus says “We Can’t Stop” and we won’t stop all weekend long. ONE DIRECTION ON THE BIG SCREEN AND IN THE MIX WITH HK

Like many a recording star before them, One Direction will make their U.S. film debut this weekend. It certainly isn’t a new concept for recording artists to step off of the concert stage and onto the silver screen. In the past such stars as ElvisFrank Sinatra and Will Smith successfully transitioned from music maven to movie mogul. More recently we've seen the likes of Justin TimberlakeKaty PerrySelena GomezBeyonceJustin BieberJennifer Lopez50 Cent,  Britney SpearsRihanna and Eminem take to the camera like Miley Cyrus to twerking. Since One Direction: This Is Us is a pop-umentary it didn’t afford the boys an opportunity for dramatic acting. But, who knows where their first theatrical release will lead them. Whoever thought Mariah Carey would be nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award after “Glitter”, or that "Fly Girl" Queen Latifah would go from Grammy's to Golden Globe and Oscar Nominations! And whoever thought Jennifer Hudson (another music reality show cast off, like 1D) would take home an Oscar?! What we do know is those faithfully obsessed Directioners will turn out in droves and make One Direction's first film a hit and very possibly break box office records.

While 1D is breaking records in the cinemas I'll be breaking records In The Mix with HK. Seriously, I've got a bevy of brand new eargasms and banging beats for a Labor Day weekend throw down you don’t want to miss. Check your local listings to peep out my non-stop commercial free music sets all weekend long!

KE$HA AND MIKE POSNER GET CRAZY!

Ke$ha is currently on tour promoting her second studio album Warrior and with all the hits this crazy kid has put out you know I needed to check it out. All the open sexuality and craziness that follows Ke$ha everywhere was certainly present on stage along with a full band, dancers and the perfect blend of sonic and visual mayhem. Oh, and let's not forget a sold out crowd adorned with glitter, face paint and head bands. Imagine the 60's hippie movement colliding with the pop EDM world and that's what you get at a Ke$ha show. Mike Posner opened up for her and primed the crowd with his own hits - "Cooler Than Me", "Bow Chicka Wow Wow", "Please Don't Go" and the monster Justin Bieber hit "Boyfriend". For those who don't know, Mike wrote that monster hit for Justin! This was without a doubt the best show I've seen in this size venue. I went expecting a more scaled down version of the tour but that was not the case. Even before walking in I saw four tour buses and three semi's and thought…this is gonna be crazy!

See all the photos here: http://goo.gl/nMsNBI

That craziness and sonic mayhem continues this weekend In The Mix with HK. With Labor Day Weekend around the corner and State Fairs popping up like weeds, the pressure was on to lock myself in the lab and crank out a bevy of new eargasms for my listeners. You better fasten your seat belts cause I've got the brand new Katy Perry - "Roar", a hot extended remix on Lady Gaga's - "Applause", and a new spin on Avicci's country EDM smoker that's guaranteed to "Wake Me Up". One Direction's Movie is about to open and I've opened up their current single "Best Song Ever". The party wouldn't be complete without new joints from Robin ThickeJustin TimberlakeParamoreTegan & SaraEmblem 3 and Capital Cities. So no matter where you are this weekend, pump up the volume and get In The Mix with HK.

SHERYL CROW, THE SUMMER SET AND HK GLAM IT UP!

Every summer there's a handful of cities waiting for the red carpet to roll out at Macy's Glamorama. This year the show takes place in Minneapolis, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. There's a different theme each year, but they always feature various fashion designers and great music. The music is almost always a knockout via live performances and pre-recorded mash-ups. This is a high-brow marketing blitz put on to highlight Macy's upcoming fall fashions, but it's really a power-packed night of music, entertainment, fashion and a blowout after party – all in the name of local charities in each city where the show takes place.

This year's headliner is Sheryl Crow with additional performances from Cirque Du Soleil and The Summer Set. In previous years the fashion always took center stage while the big star performances we're almost non-existent. Meaning you went to see your fave artist but only heard one or two songs. I'm happy to say this year felt very different. With Sheryl Crow performing four great songs ( a mini concert for Glamorama) and Cirque Du Soleil sprinkled throughout, this year's show was way more entertaining without sacrificing the fashion aspects and mission statement.

If you live in one of these cities get out and support this great event.

KATY PERRY & MORE ANTICIPATION IN THE MIX WITH HK

If you're like me – when the DJ in the club is starting to mix out of the current song, the anticipation in me and on the floor builds as your ears and brain digest the musical layers.  You're trying to decipher that next sonic blast and then POW…there it is! This week news of Katy Perry's next album "Prism", due in the fall, came out and her first single entitled "Roar" is set to drop August 9. Now I don't know about you, but I've got mad anticipation for new music from Katy and here's why. After 3 years since the release of her last album, a gazillion hits and tieing Michael Jackson's record for the most #1 songs off of one album – Katy and her record label must be in serious stress mode about now. And just to complicate matters even more, Bonnie Mckee – an extremely talented singer-songwriter who co-wrote all of Katy Perry's hits, has her new hit single out "American Girl". And guess what…it sounds just like a Katy Perry record. So you see why I'm waiting with eager anticipation. I can't wait to hear what her new material sounds like.

That's exactly the kind of anticipation you might experience this weekend when your In The Mix with HK. I've got a bevy of bangin' new beats and killer HK remixes on all your fave hits! I promise multiple eargasms with the likes of Daft Punk - "Get Lucky", Capital Cities - "Safe and Sound", Maroon 5 - "Love Somebody" and Nikki Williams – "Glowing". There's even more sonic pleasure to leave you glowing when I put the HK touch to KarminMacklemore & Ryan LewisCalvin Harris & Ellie GouldingAnna Kendrick and Jason Derulo. Plus brand spankin' new jams from Demi Lovato – "Made In The USA", Lana Del Rey - "Summertime Sadness", Enrique Iglesias - "Turn The Night Up" and Krewella's new banger "Live For The Night".

FAMILY AND MUSIC!

This week I have family from out of town visiting with me. We all went to see The Package Tour together and while there, they got to share in the whole pre-show backstage and post show tour bus excitement. They got to watch and learn while I was doing an interview and they were blown away when they saw how much work goes into producing and remixing all the songs played each week. These personal family music experiences made me think about musical families in the biz. For instance, going way back you had the Osmond Family, the Jackson Family and Sonny & Cher (husband & wife). Christina Aguilera was married to her label A&R Executive, Jessica & Ashlee Simpson were managed by their father,Beyonce' was managed by her dad and all her fashions were designed by her mom. Miley Cyrus was first introduced to the world by her than successful dad Billy RayTaylor Swift's family uprooted their whole life to move to Nashville just so she could pursue her dreams and Bruno Mars musical genius comes from performing at a young age with a very musical family. I know these examples are just the tip of the iceberg but when my family is hanging out in the studio with me this weekend, I'll be thinking of all these people and the power of family and music!

Come play in my sonic sandbox In The Mix with HK! I'm bringing the summer heat with brand new HK remixes on Fifth Harmony - "Miss Movin' On", David Guetta/Ne-Yo/Akon - "Play Hard",Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - "Can't Hold Us" and the latest thumper from Britney Spears - "Ooh La La". I've also got the scintillating Lana Del Rey - "Summertime Sadness", Tegan & Sara - "Closer", Bruno Mars - "Treasure" and Austin Mahone - "What About Love". There's gonna be more audio excitement with my re-imagined mixes on Miley CyrusKarminFlorida-Georgia LineBonnie McKeeCapital CitiesParamore and more!

BRUNO MARS & ELLIE GOULDING IN THE MIX WITH HK

If you've never seen Bruno Mars or Ellie Goulding live, pick up the phone right now and order your tickets for what is probably one of the best shows you'll ever see. Ellie did a great job of bringing her infectious blend of dance, pop and alternative to the live stage and it was one of the best responses from an audience I've ever for an opening act. Technically that's what she is on this bill, but for the audience it feels more like a double headline act with all of her hits and the generous light and sound show she had. Bruno was old school meets new. His love and upbringing on old classics shines through not only in his songwriting but definitely in his live show. He has the voice, moves, swagger, comfort and ease of a superstar, yet modestly chooses to hang back and just be one of the guys in the band. And speaking of that band…WOW! Tight as the skin on a drum. These guys play, move and sing together like a well oiled sports car. It's like Earth, Wind  Fire vs The E Street Band. Bruno is hands down one of the best singer, songwriter, artists, performers out there today!

Join me In The Mix with HK to hear what I've done to Bruno's - "Treasure" and Ellie's - "I Need Your Love". I'll also put my sonic glaze to the latest from Jason DeruloMaroon 5Capital CitiesDaft PunkParamoreEd Sheeran and Lana Del Rey. Plus special HK eargasms on Ke$ha - "Crazy Kids", Britney Spears - "Ooh La La", Demi Lovato - "Heart Attack", Mariah Carey/Miguel - #Beautiful and Rihanna/David Guetta - "Right Now". It's all non-stop commercial free music sets, so get your blast of ear candy this weekend.

SUMMER MUSIC AND CONCERT SEASON

I live and breathe music every second of every day but there is something even better about the experience during the summer months. Don’t you just love cruising with the top down and the windows open to your favorite jam or checking out one of the hottest acts of the year live under the stars or inside a packed arena. Yep, ain't nothing like it. Take next week for instance, I can’t wait to see Bruno Mars, Ellie Goulding, Plain White T's, Beyonce, New Kids On The Block, Boyz To Men and 98 Degrees. Plus another three or four local groups you probably don’t know now but hopefully will in the future. So help me out here, why is it- just like the fruit we eat, listening to music and going to concerts in the summer is so much sweeter?

I can tell you this…I've got some really sweet new mixes for your ears this weekend so make sure your tuned in! These HK jams are ripe and ready for the picking. Rihanna/David Guetta - "Right Now", Selena Gomez - "Come & Get It", Paramore - "Still Into You" and Capital Cities - "Safe and Sound". This week Mariah Carey hurt her shoulder shooting the video to the remix of #Beautiful. Thank god my remix was made after cause if she was moving to that a lot more could have happened. The juices will flow when you get a taste of my new take on Ke$ha - "Crazy Kids", Karmin - "Acapella", Miley Cyrus - "We Can't Stop", Austin Mahone - "What About Love" and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - "Same Love". This is all just a tease cause there's a bushel more of music surprises. Don't be the only one of your friends to miss out. It's all going down In The Mix with HK this weekend!

FOURTH OF JULY HK STYLE!

John Adams wrote that the Fourth of July…. “ought to be celebrated by pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, bells, bonfires and illuminations from one end of this continent to the other.…”. If President Adams were alive today I believe he would have added…and by jamming out to In The Mix with HK for a non-stop musical extravaganza in all American HK style! That’s right, John Adams would be getting his patriotic grove on this weekend.

In honor of our Nation’s Birthday Bash I have put together custom HK mixes and remixes of all your favorite hits like you've never heard them before. BEST SONG EVER!

On July 22 One Direction is releasing a new single entitled "Best Song Ever" which made me think I was having deja vu. Then I realized, no - wait a minute. In the past year there's been "F**king Best Song Ever" by Wallpaper, then "Best Song Ever" by The Ready Set and now One Direction. And that's just off the top of my head. Apparently many artists and songwriters feel they've just written the best song ever. Well, only time and audience response will tell, but in the meantime you should know I'm working on the best show ever!

This weekend on In The Mix with HK™ I'll be showcasing brand new mixes on Ke$ha - "Crazy Kids", Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - "Same Love", Florida-Georgia Line - "Cruise", Imagine Dragons - "Radioactive" and Pink - "Just Give Me A Reason". I've also put the HK sonic glaze on Capital CitiesZeddFall Out BoyAriana GrandeDaft PunkDemi Lovato and more. There's also brand new music from KarminEmbelm3, and Timeflies. So don't miss one beat of this nonstop dance party. Tune in this weekend to hear all your favorite hits re-imagined and remixed together into commercial free music sets!

ROBIN THICKE IN THE MIX WITH HK

Robin Thicke has the #1 song in the country this week and I recently caught up with him backstage to talk about his journey to the top of the pop charts. That chat and my latest reworking of his song "Blurred Lines" will be featured in this week's show. The hit has come under fire and is taking a lot of heat for being degrading to women. Robin's own comments in a recent interview didn't help matters. What do you think? Is this the price of success or do the claims have merit?

Make sure you catch that interview along with my latest crop of remixes from the musical garden. I've mixed and tossed Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - "Can't Hold Us", Imagine Dragons - "Radioactive", Rihanna - "Stay" and Maroon 5 - "Love Somebody". I'm also putting the sonic HK Miracle Grow to the latest from Capital CitiesAustin MahoneMiley Cyrus and Nikki Williams. There's plenty more musical madness and it's all going down this weekend! All your fave jams in non-stop commercial free music sets back to back and beat to beat!

MOUTHING OFF!

Freedom of speech is wonderful. It's one of the many things that makes this country great and what I'm about to do right now! Computers, the internet and social media have made the megaphone we're all speaking through a billion times bigger. Now that we have this power at our fingertips it's easy for people to have many a mis-step. Especially those that live in the public eye and under close scrutiny. Case in point – politicians, movie stars, music stars etc. From Chris Brownand Justin Bieber tweets to the latest Amanda Bynes meltdowns not a day goes by where someone isn't mouthing off and we all hear about it. This week it was Kanye West, albeit through an old fashioned media channel like the New York Times. But it was the posting of that interview on the internet that sent the blogosphere ablaze! Kanye, who gave a rare interview to the paper as he starts promotion on his new album, referred to himself as the Michael Jordan of the music business and the Steve Jobs of the internet. Kanye has some amazing statistics, including 21 Grammy Awards. That's right, you heard that correctly, bet you didn't know that. But yezzy constantly feels slighted. In his mind he's never gotten credit for the work he's done. What's up with that? I'm curious to hear your opinion. Please let me know!

Now let me mouth off about this week's show. Don't you dare miss it! I'm gonna set your sonic world on fire. This show is HOT!!! All new remixes on your favorite hits and it's all mixed together into one non-stop crazy throwdown. I can't wait for you to hear what I've done to Daft Punk - "Get Lucky", Nikki Williams - "Glowing", Demi Lovato - "Heart Attack" and a bangin' re-imagined version of a classic. I got all your requests for Macklemore & Ryan LewisAvril Lavigne and Selena Gomez so I got you covered. Some special HK tasty treats will be my mashup of Ed Sheeran - "Lego House" with Justin Timberlake - "Mirrors,  plus my new take on Emeli Sande' - "Next To Me", Bruno Mars - "Treasure" and Jennifer Lopez – "Live It Up". There's plenty more so come hang with me in the DJ booth.

How can I say this best? Oh yea…this weekends show is off the MOTHER ******* chain! No. Seriously! If the Red Wedding episode left you in pain and anguish – this edition of IN THE MIX WITH HK™ will leave you exhausted. I'm talking a mad crazy version of Ke$ha - "Crazy Kids", my don't even think about stopping us version of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - "Can't Hold Us" and "Same Love" and if you think you love Maroon 5 - "Love Somebody", then you're gonna have an HK eargasm when you hear what I'm gonna do to it. And that’s only some of what I've got planned for the first set. No matter where you are or what you're listening on do not miss this week's show. Imagine Bruno Mars - "Treasure", Jennifer Lopez - "Live It Up", Selena Gomez - "Come & Get It", Florida-Georgia Line - "Cruise" and Fall Out Boy - "My Songs Know What You Did" all pumped up, mixed together and commercial free.
