ONE DIRECTION ON THE BIG SCREEN AND IN THE MIX WITH HK

Like many a recording star before them, One Direction will make their U.S. film debut this weekend. It certainly isn’t a new concept for recording artists to step off of the concert stage and onto the silver screen. In the past such stars as ElvisFrank Sinatra and Will Smith successfully transitioned from music maven to movie mogul. More recently we've seen the likes of Justin TimberlakeKaty PerrySelena GomezBeyonceJustin BieberJennifer Lopez50 Cent,  Britney SpearsRihanna and Eminem take to the camera like Miley Cyrus to twerking. Since One Direction: This Is Us is a pop-umentary it didn’t afford the boys an opportunity for dramatic acting. But, who knows where their first theatrical release will lead them. Whoever thought Mariah Carey would be nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award after “Glitter”, or that "Fly Girl" Queen Latifah would go from Grammy's to Golden Globe and Oscar Nominations! And whoever thought Jennifer Hudson (another music reality show cast off, like 1D) would take home an Oscar?! What we do know is those faithfully obsessed Directioners will turn out in droves and make One Direction's first film a hit and very possibly break box office records.

While 1D is breaking records in the cinemas I'll be breaking records In The Mix with HK. Seriously, I've got a bevy of brand new eargasms and banging beats for a Labor Day weekend throw down you don’t want to miss. Check your local listings to peep out my non-stop commercial free music sets all weekend long!

KE$HA AND MIKE POSNER GET CRAZY!

Ke$ha is currently on tour promoting her second studio album Warrior and with all the hits this crazy kid has put out you know I needed to check it out. All the open sexuality and craziness that follows Ke$ha everywhere was certainly present on stage along with a full band, dancers and the perfect blend of sonic and visual mayhem. Oh, and let's not forget a sold out crowd adorned with glitter, face paint and head bands. Imagine the 60's hippie movement colliding with the pop EDM world and that's what you get at a Ke$ha show. Mike Posner opened up for her and primed the crowd with his own hits - "Cooler Than Me", "Bow Chicka Wow Wow", "Please Don't Go" and the monster Justin Bieber hit "Boyfriend". For those who don't know, Mike wrote that monster hit for Justin! This was without a doubt the best show I've seen in this size venue. I went expecting a more scaled down version of the tour but that was not the case. Even before walking in I saw four tour buses and three semi's and thought…this is gonna be crazy!

That craziness and sonic mayhem continues this weekend In The Mix with HK. With Labor Day Weekend around the corner and State Fairs popping up like weeds, the pressure was on to lock myself in the lab and crank out a bevy of new eargasms for my listeners. You better fasten your seat belts cause I've got the brand new Katy Perry - "Roar", a hot extended remix on Lady Gaga's - "Applause", and a new spin on Avicci's country EDM smoker that's guaranteed to "Wake Me Up". One Direction's Movie is about to open and I've opened up their current single "Best Song Ever". The party wouldn't be complete without new joints from Robin ThickeJustin TimberlakeParamoreTegan & SaraEmblem 3 and Capital Cities. So no matter where you are this weekend, pump up the volume and get In The Mix with HK.

SHERYL CROW, THE SUMMER SET AND HK GLAM IT UP!

Every summer there's a handful of cities waiting for the red carpet to roll out at Macy's Glamorama. This year the show takes place in Minneapolis, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. There's a different theme each year, but they always feature various fashion designers and great music. The music is almost always a knockout via live performances and pre-recorded mash-ups. This is a high-brow marketing blitz put on to highlight Macy's upcoming fall fashions, but it's really a power-packed night of music, entertainment, fashion and a blowout after party – all in the name of local charities in each city where the show takes place.

This year's headliner is Sheryl Crow with additional performances from Cirque Du Soleil and The Summer Set. In previous years the fashion always took center stage while the big star performances we're almost non-existent. Meaning you went to see your fave artist but only heard one or two songs. I'm happy to say this year felt very different. With Sheryl Crow performing four great songs ( a mini concert for Glamorama) and Cirque Du Soleil sprinkled throughout, this year's show was way more entertaining without sacrificing the fashion aspects and mission statement.

If you live in one of these cities get out and support this great event.

And, just like the red-hot rooftop after party at Glam – it's gonna get mad crazy this weekend when you're IN THE MIX WITH HK. I've got brand new custom HK remixes on Ke$haNikki WilliamsBonnie Mckee,Maroon 5Macklemore & Ryan LewisMiley CyrusPitbullDaft Punk and Lana Del Rey. Plus I'm gonna take a classic and re-work it into a mind blowing sonic experience. There's way to many surprises to talk about here, so do yourself a favor and don't miss a single minute.

KATY PERRY & MORE ANTICIPATION IN THE MIX WITH HK

If you're like me – when the DJ in the club is starting to mix out of the current song, the anticipation in me and on the floor builds as your ears and brain digest the musical layers.  You're trying to decipher that next sonic blast and then POW…there it is! This week news of Katy Perry's next album "Prism", due in the fall, came out and her first single entitled "Roar" is set to drop August 9. Now I don't know about you, but I've got mad anticipation for new music from Katy and here's why. After 3 years since the release of her last album, a gazillion hits and tieing Michael Jackson's record for the most #1 songs off of one album – Katy and her record label must be in serious stress mode about now. And just to complicate matters even more, Bonnie Mckee – an extremely talented singer-songwriter who co-wrote all of Katy Perry's hits, has her new hit single out "American Girl". And guess what…it sounds just like a Katy Perry record. So you see why I'm waiting with eager anticipation. I can't wait to hear what her new material sounds like.

That's exactly the kind of anticipation you might experience this weekend when your In The Mix with HK. I've got a bevy of bangin' new beats and killer HK remixes on all your fave hits! I promise multiple eargasms with the likes of Daft Punk - "Get Lucky", Capital Cities - "Safe and Sound", Maroon 5 - "Love Somebody" and Nikki Williams – "Glowing". There's even more sonic pleasure to leave you glowing when I put the HK touch to KarminMacklemore & Ryan LewisCalvin Harris & Ellie GouldingAnna Kendrick and Jason Derulo. Plus brand spankin' new jams from Demi Lovato – "Made In The USA", Lana Del Rey - "Summertime Sadness", Enrique Iglesias - "Turn The Night Up" and Krewella's new banger "Live For The Night".
