Bieber fever escalated into a
full-scale epidemic in Norway yesterday. The Biebes was preparing to perform a free concert
from the top of the Oslo Opera House and tens of thousands of his closest
friends turned out. The streets of the Scandinavian country's capital
city were flooded with fans when the mob started chasing a car
believed to be transporting the teen idol to the concert. It isn't
hard to imagine the ear piercing shrill of young
girl screams in a frequency that I'm sure
was upsetting to Oslo residents and certainly the Norwegian dog
population. A spike in mobile phone usage, also caused by the event, briefly
halted cellular service in the city. In true teen idol obsession
style, a reported 15 girls passed out from the shear Beiberness of the
event. Things escalated when the crowd ignored police warnings. Just when the
officials were about to declare a state of
emergency the pre-pubescent looking boy wonder tweeted his fans
a request to "listen to the police" and saved the day. And all
of this good stuff can be seen in, you guessed it, an upcoming Bieber special "Justin Bieber All Around the World". The
special will follow the singer on his 12-day, seven-country promo tour. It is
scheduled to air at 8pm June 21 on NBC.
