SUPER BOWL SUNDAY AND MUSIC!

We all love the game but don’t underestimate the entertainment for heating up the field! First, there’s the singing of the National Anthem. The fun here is the extreme difficulty of the song, and the pressure of over 100 million people watching that one lone vocalist. This year Renne Fleming will take the microphone. Being an acclaimed opera singer, my guess is she'll kill it, but will she top Whitney Houston’s dramatic Super Bowl performance. I can’t wait to find out.

Next up is the halftime show which can have more unexpected excitement than the first half of the game. Need I mention the Janet Jackson / Justin Timberlake wardrobe malfunction? This year with Bruno Mars at the helm I’m expecting nothing but mega-star talent and class. Then throw in a little Red Hot Chili Peppers to spice things up and we got a Jersey party goin’ down on mid field. Then, right after the game, Prince (no seriously… Prince) is appearing in “New Girl”! You gotta love Super Bowl Sunday!

I’ll give you another reason to love Super Bowl weekend. Hot off the heels from my Grammy Weekend blowout, I'll be making more moves on the decks than the Broncos game book. So do the right thing and kick your Super Bowl weekend into epic party mode with my exclusive remixes on Katy PerryZeddBritney SpearsDemi LovatoPitbullAviciiBeyonceLordeAmerican Authors and more. Much, Much More!

GRAMMY NOMINEES ARE IN THE MIX WITH HK

The Recording Academy is an organization that shows love for the music community in a multitude of ways all year long. But, on Sunday January 26th it is all about the Grammys and celebrating (as they say) artistic achievement, technical proficiency and overall excellence in the recording industry.

Being a long time voting member of the Academy plus a previous Grammy nominee I take the Grammy Awards very seriously.  Marking my ballot took a lot of time and was a difficult task since there are so many great artists and songs in the running. Record of the Year is a down and dirty tight race and I would love to know who you think should win. The nominees are:  "Get Lucky"- Daft Punk, "Radioactive"- Imagine Dragons, "Royals"- Lorde, "Locked Out Of Heaven" - Bruno Mars, and "Blurred Lines" - Robin Thicke f/T.I & Pharrel.

I'm kicking off my Grammy weekend party on In The Mix with HK and I'll be featuring brand spankin' new remixes on many of the nominated artists like Bruno MarsRobin ThickeKaty PerryLordeSara Bareilles and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

I've also got brand new HK Eargasms on Demi Lovato - "Neon Lights", Pitbull/Ke$ha - "Timber", Jason Derulo - "Talk Dirty" and John Newman – "Love Me Again". Of course there's plenty more so check your local listings and don't miss a single second when I'm throwin' it down on the one's and two's!

PASSENGER, BASTILLE AND ONE REPUBLIC GET THE SONIC HK TOUCH!

Nothing is more fun than going out and dancing till you drop. That pulsating beat and sonic euphoria that takes over all your senses when your favorite song is pounding through the sound system. And then, right then…for that moment you are free of stress and all the worries of the week are gone!

As a professional (DJ/Producer/Remixer/Programmer) and both a consumer of music and lover of dance, the thing I love the most is when a great non-dance song is reworked into an EPIC dance-floor stomper. In other words a great ballad, rock song or country track that someone re-imagined in a whole new way.

This weekend I'll be doing just that when I bring you some of the biggest hits on the chart and shine a whole new light on them. Tune in to hear totally new takes on some of your faves like Passenger - "Let Her Go", Bastille - "Pompeii" and One Republic's - "Counting Stars". There's also part two of my sit down with American Authors and multiple HK Eargasms from ZeddPitbullDemi LovatoAviciiKaty PerryLordeBeyonceOne DirectionJohn Newman and the brand new single from the Fray!

AMERICAN AUTHORS ARE IN THE MIX WITH HK

You know that really catchy song with the hooky banjo riff and great beat and the chorus goes something like "Best Day of My Life". That's it! The one you keep walking around singing but you're not sure who the band is. Well, those four guys are American Authors. They first met attending the most well known and prestigious music school in the country – Berklee College of Music. After five years of pounding it out in Boston under a different name the group moved to Brooklyn, NY and got some serious mojo.

They released their self-titled EP less than five months ago and thanks to some great placements in TV commercials and movie trailers, as well as being embraced by radio early on, the group has exploded on the scene. The guys will be joining me this weekend to talk about their new found success and the journey getting there.

I've also got brand new bodacious beats and killer HK remixes on Pitbull/Ke$ha - "Timber", Avicii - "Brother", A Great Big World - "Say Something" and an amazing take on Bastille - "Pompeii". You may just lose yourself when you hear my exclusive HK eargasms on Demi LovatoLorde, Zedd and Rihanna. Plus brand new joints from Jason DeruloLupe Fiasco f/Ed SheeranZendaya and John Newman.

Like a great hot chocolate on a cold winter night you'll want to tune in this weekend to get every drop!

2014 STARTS WITH A BANG, A FIZZLE AND CLEANING OUT THE CLOSET

The New Year came in with a bang. Literally! Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco is now off the market. Sorry guys, the sexy hot geek lover is officially married. Congrats Kaley!

And remember that young guy Justin Bieber? Well, his last movie opened to a first week box office of 30 million dollars. Unlike the xmas week flop of “Believe” which had an opening week take of just 4 million dollars. I guess the shine has worn off of the star going into 2014 hey?

Then there’s all the brouhaha coming out of the Duck Dynasty compound. People can’t believe the things coming out of Phil Robertson’s mouth. Really? Are you kidding me? Like this is a surprise to anyone. Phil is a self-confessed redneck. He’s been saying what he says from the bully pulpit and everywhere else for years. And A&E with all due respect this is exactly what you pay him to be…himself. Remember, it’s called “reality tv”. And speaking of reality…TV… and things that piss off Phil…how about Robin Roberts from Good Morning America coming out of the closet. WOW! Sam Champion the former weather guy from the same show – who left just before the end of the year to run the Weather Channel - came out just a moment ago himself. What’s in the coffee over there?

Well, I’m gonna bring a serious caffine jolt this weekend when we kick off the first show of 2014 with nothin’ but HK bangerz! Tune in coast to coast and worldwide this weekend to hear brand new exclusive custom remixes on Katy Perry - "Dark Horse", Zedd - "Stay", Britney Spears - "Perfume" and Flo Rida - "How I Feel". I've also got brand new jams from BeyonceDemi LovatoAviciiAmerican AuthorsBastilleA Great Big World and more. So turn up the speakers and let me thaw those frozen windows with some serious sonic heat!
