USHER COLLABS ABOUND IN SUPERBOWL LEAD UP

Usher is killing it on the airwaves and on the charts in his lead up to the big Super Bowl Halftime performance. Hit collabs with Jung Kook, Summer Walker, and 21 Savage have given him 2 big hits, currently working their way up the charts and into the ears of fans. It also begs the question…who will be joining him on stage at Super Bowl. Many of his biggest hits are collabs with other artists, so the stage could be filled with lots of talent.

Lot’s of heavyweight hitters are back with new music this week, and many of them are surrounded in controversy. J-Lo, Lil Nas X, and Ariana Grande all dropped new singles. As is always the question with Jennifer Lopez, will her relationship with Ben Affleck last this time around? Lil Nas X is raising eyebrows for the visuals in his video for his latest single, and it seems Ariana Grande lost over 400,000 followers on social media after her new single dropped days ago. Now 400k seems like an awful lot of people, and it is, but it won’t put a dent in her 380 million stalwart fans. So what is it about the lyrics of the song that pissed off so many people?

AJR BACK WITH AN HK REMIX

Brothers Adam, Jack and Ryan (AJR) are back In The Mix with an HK remix. The group is seeing early buzz on “Yes, I’m A Mess”. They’re also headlining their first ever arena tour, and in the middle of writing music for a new Broadway Show based on the classic children’s book…Harold and the Purple Crayon. Seeing as how AJR has made a career out of recording musical theater influenced albums, the collaboration seemed like a perfect fit.

 

Another perfect fit is all the music I’m working on for this week’s In The Mix With HK™. It’s the first show of the New Year and we’re kicking things off right.
