24KGOLDN TURNING 20 AND #1

Golden Landis Von Jones better known as 24KGoldn has reason to celebrate. On Friday he turns 20 and his track Mood, featuring Iann Dior is the #1 song in the country…again. But Goldn almost didn’t pursue music. As a child he did commercial acting and was in Lunchables, Honda and Blue Diamond Almond commercials. Then Goldn was studying finance and loving campus life at USC . He says “Before I realized I could do music professionally, my whole plan was to become a hedge fund manager. Thank God I didn’t do that.”  We’re all glad Goldn took the singer, rapper, songwriter road.

After Tekashi 6ix9ine’s accused them of buying that top spot Ariana and Bieber rebuked the accusations on social media. Billboard also jumped in and explained their rankings in a lengthy statement. In Biebers post he took the opportunity to mention that he’s honored to work with Ariana on the track and make money for a great cause.

Stella Bennett, aka Benne, the 20-year-old singer/songwriter from New Zealand didn’t have social distancing in mind when she came up with her viral hit Supalonely featuring Gus Dapperton. She penned the upbeat track laced with comic expression of self-pity during a songwriting trip to LA last year. With lyrics like “La La La La La I’m a Lonely B****” the song has morphed into an unintentional quarantine anthem. TWENTY ONE PILOTS HAVE A "LEVEL OF CONCERN"

Twenty One Pilots wrote and dropped a new track in this COVID-19 era of self-isolation. The song, Level Of Concern, is definitely influenced by the pandemic with lyrics like “Would you be my little Quarantine”. Of the single, Tyler tweeted; ”Always writing, but this one feels like it should just come out now. I think it’s simple but hopeful.” With intentions of spreading hope Tyler and Josh are donating a portion of the proceeds to Crew Nation a charity that supports laid off live music crews.

The music community is stepping up and giving back during this scary time of COVID-19. Taylor Swift has helped a Nashville record store stay afloat by donating money to each employee and paying three months of their health care. Taylor’s also been quietly making donations to fans who have lost jobs due to the crisis. Selena Gomez has donated to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA, the same hospital that has helped with her health issues including her 2017 kidney transplant. Last week Rihanna donated a whopping $5 million to COVID-19 relief efforts and this week she contributed another cool million that Jay-Z matched. Lizzo sent lunch to ER workers at various hospitals across the country. And the list goes on and on of donations and good deeds from celebrity artists and everyday people alike helping out in whatever way they can.
