This Weekend In The Mix With HK

I've got killer remixes and banging new beats on all your favorite hits. You know that song you love? I got it but better. Remember last weeks joints? Well I've been on a high calorie high protein diet and it's gonna be a sonic smack down.

Join me in the dj booth where I'll be working some musical magic on Lady Gaga - "Marry The Night", Rihanna – "We Found Love" and those crazy boys from party town…LMFAO - "Sexy and I Know It". Now I know that's not nearly enough jam for your jelly which is why I'm packing some extra heat. I'm gonna make it rain with my new mix on Katy Perry - "The One That Got Away" and if things go right for Miss P it should help propel her to breaking Michael Jackson's record of six number ones off the same album. Can you say OMG!!

There's also new party power players like Taio Cruz and Flo Rida. Plus JoJo – "Disaster", Kelly Clarkson - "Mr. Know It All", Nickelback - "When We Stand Together" and Florence and the Machine - "Shake It Out". Did I just say Nickelback and Florence and the Machine? Of course I did – Remember…”If it’s hot, if it’s new and it makes you wanna move – you’re In The Mix with HK”™.

This Week In The Mix With HK

Ok, is it just me or has it become a mandatory career move for every pop diva to have a baby this year. First it was Christina, then Pink, then Mariah. The record for "tweet" activity happened after Beyonce showed us her bump and now...Dev from "In The Dark" fame has just announced she's expecting. It's nice to know these hard working ladies still have time to get down. Literally and figuratively.

I'll be getting down In The Mix With HK this weekend so come along for the ride. I'll be swingin' my "Moves Like Jagger" from Maroon 5, partying with the boys from LMFAO and we'll all be feeling good with Cobra Starship.

I can't wait for you to hear what I've done to Adele... "Someone Like You", and "Nothing" will prepare you for whats been done to The Script. I've also got another brand new mix on "Pumped Up Kicks" from Foster The People.

But wait theres more! A post rehab remix on Demi Lovato, Hot Chelle Rae, Brit, Katy, RiRi and Pitbull. Plus Iyaz and I'm "Taking Over Control" with Afrojack

There's plenty more so put the stereo on auto pilot Saturday 10pm and rock the block.

Pitbull Talks About Lindsay Lohan Lawsuit

Planet Pit Exclusive: Pitbull speaks on Lindsay Lohan Lawsuit from Planet Pit on Vimeo.

This Week In The Mix With HK

I always get pumped up this time of year for all the great state fairs happening around the country and some of the best weather all year. My only word of advice is watch out for splinters. Hey! anything can happen and when you eat everything imaginable on a stick, well...I'm just sayin'.

I am on the other hand throwing all caution to the wind when I get in the mix. Your kicks will get pumped up when you hear what's been done to Foster The People. We're gonna party like it's 1999 with LMFAO and I'm taking over control with the help of Afrojack.

The Black Eyed Peas will say "Don't Stop The Party", but since we'll all be getting our "Moves Like Jagger" from Maroon 5 its gonna be hard. I'm also toasting to Rihanna and her latest "Cheers". Plus the latest killer jams from Iyaz, Coldplay, Dev and Pitbull. And I haven't left out some of this summers finest from Katy Perry, Hot Chelle Rae, Adele and Martin Solveig.

Believe it or not...there's a whole lot more. So make sure your tuned in. It's gonna be off the hook.

This Week In The Mix With HK

Earlier this week several reports came out talking about what Rihanna spends on her hair. One said $22,000 a week. Another said $15,000 month. Regardless of which story is right...for a brief moment I thought about chucking the decks, mixer and speakers right out the studio window. Grabbing a pair of scissors and heading down to the nearest training school. Dreams of having just one client like RiRi were dancing in my head. Then the beat woke me up!

That beat is gonna hit you up side the head this weekend when you hear my latest mixes on...Beyonce, Foster The People, Maroon 5 and the Barbados princess herself - Rihanna.

I've also got new mixes on Katy Perry "Last Friday Night", Coldplay "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall", Lady Gaga "The Edge of Glory", Martin Solveig "Hello" and Dev "In The Dark".

You'll also hear what I've done to Cody Simpson "On My Mind", Iyaz "Pretty Girls" and a whole lot more! So be sure to tune in this week on-air and on line.

This Week On In The Mix With HK

I've given Bruno Mars a rest this week cause he needs to gather his strength for later this month when he'll be doing double duty at the MTV VMA's, as both a performer and nominee.

All of you on the other hand need to rest up now cause I've got hot new mixes on "Moves Like Jagger" from Maroon 5 & Christina Aguliera, Beyonce's "Best Thing I've Never Had", plus the killer new track from Rihanna & Avril Lavigne that will have everyone raising their glass..."Cheers".

Your also gonna hear Adele's new ballad..."Someone Like You". But this version won't have you on the floor slow dancing. And if that's not enough to get your mojo moving wait to you hear what I've done to LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem", David Guetta's "Where Them Girls At", and "Nothing" from The Script.

I'll be pulling out all the stops and going mad crazy in the studio when I spin my custom HK mixes on The Band Perry, Nicole Scherzinger, Pitbull, Cobra Starship and Jason Derulo. By the time it's all over I promise you'll be in a sweat, your heart will be pumping and so will the very last beats as I hit you off with a special Mash-up of recent hits.

Believe it or not...That’s just a taste… I can’t reveal all, so you’ll just have to tune in and come with me behind the velvet rope. Remember…”If it’s hot, if it’s new and it makes you wanna move – you’re In The Mix with HK”™.

This Week On In The Mix With HK

Katy Perry and Adele both continue their quest for world domination by cinching up the most MTV VMA noms. And they certianly have been dominating my time on the decks and in the studio.

Coming up on In The Mix With HK I've got a killer reworking of Katy's "Last Friday Night", Jason Derulo's dance floor anthem "Don't Wanna Go Home"  and I"m gonna blow your mind with what's been done to Coldplay's "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall". And I know it doesn't seem possible...but YES...I've got an all new smokin' hot remix on Adele's "Rolling In The Deep". This one comes down in tempo and has got a bangin groove with some great turntableisam

I've also got the latest from everyone's favorite Pussycat Doll - Nicole Scherzinger..."Right There"Avril Lavgine's "Smile" and you'll have to bust out some new moves when you hear this pumped up and fortified version of "Stereo Hearts" by the Gym Class Hereos w/Adam Levine. What you MUST NOT MISS is the opening of the show and my Charlie Sheen inspired transistion from LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" to "Don't Stop The Party" by The Black Eyed Peas    . This Week On In The Mix With HK

Avril Lavigne said it best with her last single..."What The Hell" and her current single "Smile" certainly isn't what's happening in the Beyonce' family household. Apparently when her dad gave up the gig has her one and only career manager - the split wasn't amicable as first reported. Miss B claims he was stealing money from her and he claims it's a falsehood started by Live Nation (the concert touring company), who wanted him out of the picture from her world tour. When they went their separate ways Beyonce said how proud she was to take control of her career. Well one things for sure. Her new album is 3 singles deep with no sign of a hit, despite all the money spent on videos and promotion. And the reaction to her album - even from her label executives - is let's just say...not what one expects from this iconic pop star. Is Miss B up to the task of handling her own business? Wonder what Jay-Z has to say.

Speaking of business...I've been in the lab on the ones and twos. Get yourself ready to sweat and I'm not talking about this weekends heat index. Coming up on In The Mix With HK I've got "You Make Me Feel Good" from Cobra Starship. A killer track we first broke on our show. The new hot one burning up the airwaves and dancefloor "She Ain't You" from Chris Brown. Did you catch him on the Today Show this morning? This version is on fire.

I've also got Jason Derulo's thumper "Don't Wanna Go Home", a new reworking on Tinie Tempah's "Written In The Stars", and you'll be koo koo for coco puffs when you hear my remixes on The Band Perry, Lupe Fiasco and Katy Perry.

That’s just a taste… I can’t reveal all, so you’ll just have to tune in and come with me behind the velvet rope. Remember…”If it’s hot, if it’s new and it makes you wanna move – you’re In The Mix with HK”™.

Coming Up This Weekend On The Show

What’s up party people? Right on the heels of Adele canceling tour dates, Katy Perry was forced to cancel her weekend shows due to food poisoning. That means all you folks in the Twin Cities and the Windy City are gonna have to wait till August. I'm bumming cause I was looking forward to hangin with the lovely Miss Perry on Saturday.

Have no fear cause I'm still here - watching what I eat though.

This weekends show is bangin' like last weeks fireworks. I can’t wait for you to hear my latest remix on Jessie J‘s “Price Tag”, and I found "Where Them Girls are At".  Their chillin with David Guetta/Flo Rida/Nicki Minaj and me. Wait to you peep out this new mix. You'll also hear a new HK remix on Neon Trees "Your Surrender". And that's all just part of the first set.

On our musical journey there's more HK mixes on The Band Perry "If I Die Young", Pitbull/Ne Yo "Give Me Everything" and the hot new jam from Cobra Starship "You Make Me Feel Good". I’ve also reworked Bruno MarsLazy Song”. I know I cracked your cranium with last weeks remix but with this track showing no signs of going away this summer I had to go back in the lab and pump it up with a new twist once again. This mix is SLAMMIN'. Check it out and then hit me up to tell me what you think.

That’s just a taste… I can’t reveal all, so you’ll just have to tune in and hang with me in the booth. Remember…”If it’s hot, if it’s new and it makes you wanna move – you’re In The Mix with HK”™.

Coming Up This Weekend On The Show

What's up party people? Katy Perry says...TGIF and Cee Lo says he prefers Saturday Night. Me, I'm happy either way cause it's all the WEEKEND baby!. Plus it looks like we might actually have some summer-like weather.

The first pics of Pink's baby are out and Adele can't sing or talk for a month. I spent the whole week doing what I love in the studio and that's working on some slammin' new  remixes.

This weekend I can't wait for you to check out what I've done to Chris Brown's new one "She Ain't You", Adele's "Rolling In The Deep", Britney's "Till The World Ends", and the brand spanking new jam from Jason Derulo. I've also reworked Lady GaGa's "Edge of Glory", Enrique Iglesias's new dance floor stomper with Usher "Dirty Dancer" and your not gonna believe Bruno Mars "Lazy Song". You have got to be sure too check it out.
And that's just the begining of what you'll hear this weekend. I don't have enough room to list them all here, so you'll just have to tune in and hang with me in the booth. Remember..."if it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move - you're in the mix with HK"™.

Taylor Swift Concert Review

Well I took some time off from the studio tonight. Had to put the beats on hold and freeze frame the latest remix madness. Ya know why? Taylor Swift was in town at Xcel Arena. It was her second of two nights. Now I know Taylor writes her songs, tickles the ivory and can strum a guitar or banjo or two. She has picked up every award on the planet. But I still wasn't convinced, so I had to peep out the country pop chanteuse for myself. All I can say is WOW!! The production on this show was amazing. The staging, lights, set design, band, dancers, fireworks...that's right fireworks. And even the smell of inscents wafting through the arena at perfectly timed intervals. Taylor sounded great. At times you could get a glimpse of her young clumsy awkwardness, but it was purely a body language thing and let's not forget she hasn't been in the game that long and she's still a young pup. Her banter with the audience - who was a very wide demographic - was perfect and she kept the crowd pumped up at all times. Where I really give her and her production people cred is how she managed to work every inch of that arena from top to bottom and front to back. She jumped off stage ran through the sold out audience and headed to the very back where she then camped out and performed 4 consecutive numbers. One of which was "Fearless". She played guitar and ukulele all while sitting under a tree which rotated. People who moments early were thinking dam! I should have sprung for better seats now temporarily became the first row. She ended the night with "Romeo & Juliet" and sang it from a balcony which was floating high atop the audience and went completely around the full expanse of the arena. Almost every number felt like a Broadway production and was brought to life through beautiful visualization and her desire to get as close to the audience as possible.
Taylor set the bar high and proved what a pop crossover artist can do. Whether you were male or female, Young or old, this was a mass appeal show that didn't disappoint.
Kudos to her management and production team and special thanks to the good folks at Xcel. I've said it before and I'll say it again...Xcel in St.Paul is one of the finest places to see a concert. Easy in, easy out and great acoustics. Not something easily accomplished in the arena world.
Alright. It's 3am. Seems like a good time to head back into the lab. I've got a killer show I'm working on for this weekend. Until then...enjoy these concert photos!
