Hot Chelle Rae has been making a lot of noise with their 2012 "Beautiful Freaks Tour". I met up with them on Monday night as they rocked the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis. The Theater was sold out weeks ago and the fans were ready to party. During the performance of "I Like it Like That" the band was almost drowned out with the crowd singing louder than the groups pumped up speakers. Although the fans were on their feet and showing them love for the entire concert, "Honestly" and "Tonight Tonight" were the other tracks that really brought down the house . The foursome was right at home on stage and it is no wonder as they grew up in the Nashville music scene. Lead guitarist Nash Overstreet is the son of five-time BMI Songwriter of the year Paul Overstreet. Base player, Ian Keaggy's dad is a Grammy – nominated guitarist. Lead vocalist Ryan Follese and his drummer brother Jamie are the sons of A-list Nashville songwriters Keith and Adienne Follese. Hot Chelle Rae hasn't just been busy selling out venues. The group has been working on their new album and says they are only a couple singles away from wrapping it up. That anxiously awaited album is sure to rocket to the top of the charts.
I was so pumped after the concert I spent all night in the studio crankin' out a new mix on "Honestly". And that's not all, I've got the best of the best for this week's In The Mix with HK™. Don't even think about catching your breathe cause I'm not forgetting about Flo Rida – "Wild Ones', Calvin Harris - "Feel So Close" and you're not gonna believe what I've done to Karmin - "Broken Hearted" and Foster The People's – "Don't Stop". Believe it or not there's still much more so don't forget to tune in this weekend. Your gonna want to turn it up and rip the knob off.
