WHAT REALLY MATTERS!

Big headlines this week were about gun control, a massive stabbing rampage on a college campus and possible nuclear war from North Korea. Yet in the middle of all of that, I still saw headlines about Justin Beiber cutting his hair like Skrillex and Rihanna, Taylor Swift no longer wearing eye liner and Ray J dropping a new track called "I Hit It First" - a total diss to both Kanye West and his baby bump mama Kim K. Let's not forget Louis Anderson is out from the show Splash (what knuckle head tv exec came up with this idea). Plus, it was an emotional week on DWTS and we all want to know is Mariah Carey to soft? Will Nicki Minaj be back? Ahh!!! Isn't it great to know that no matter what serious things are going on in the world…America will always have it's guilty pleasures. What do you think?

What really matters to me is my family, friends, music and all of the above. You see I'm a news junkie. The bad, the good and the ugly. And when the events of the day are bad, it's nice to lose yourself in the superfluous. Another thing I can always lose myself in is the groove, and man did I get lost this week. I've got a bevy of sonic gems ready to bust out this weekend. I'm talking a whole new crop of HK ear-gasims! Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - "Can't Hold Us", Hot Chelle Rae - "Hung Up", Justin Timberlake - "Mirrors" and Demi Lovato - "Heart Attack". I'm also stoked for you to hear what I've done to Emeli Sande - "Next to Me", Fall Out Boy - "My Songs Know What You Did", Calvin Harris - "Sweet Nothing" and the new club banger from Will. I.Am & Justin Beiber - "#thatpower". There's all that and plenty of other surprises. We're also going back stage to talk with Andy Grammer, so don't miss a second of this week's In The Mix with HK™.

Remember…If it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix with HK™.

Hot Chelle Rae In The Mix with HK

Hot Chelle Rae has been making a lot of noise with their 2012 "Beautiful Freaks Tour". I met up with them  on Monday night as they rocked the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis. The Theater was sold out weeks ago and the fans were ready to party. During the performance of "I Like it Like That" the band was almost drowned out with the crowd singing  louder than the groups pumped up speakers. Although the fans were on their feet and showing them love for the entire concert, "Honestly" and "Tonight Tonight" were the other tracks that really brought down the house . The foursome was right at home on stage and it is no wonder as they grew up in the Nashville music scene. Lead guitarist Nash Overstreet is the son of five-time BMI Songwriter of the year Paul Overstreet. Base player, Ian Keaggy's dad is a Grammy – nominated guitarist. Lead vocalist Ryan Follese and his drummer brother Jamie are the sons of A-list Nashville songwriters Keith and Adienne Follese. Hot Chelle Rae hasn't just been busy selling out venues. The group has been working on their new  album and says they are only a couple singles away from wrapping it up. That anxiously awaited album is sure to rocket to the top of the charts.

I was so pumped after the concert I spent all night in the studio crankin' out a new mix on "Honestly". And that's not all, I've got the best of the best for this week's In The Mix with HK™. So get your hammer and nails ready because I'm gonna tear the roof off with slamin HK mixes on  Fun - "We Are Young",  Gotye - "Somebody That I Used To Know",  and my brand new mix on the  Biebs - "Boyfriend" will make anyone want to go steady.

I'm also gonna put my fingerprint on "The Fighter" from Gym Class Heroes f/Ryan Tedder, Daughtry's - "Outta My Head" - That's right…you heard me!, plus Maroon 5's new jam "Pay Phone". As well as the new dance floor smoker from Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull - "Dance Again".

Don't even think about catching your breathe cause I'm not forgetting about Flo Rida – "Wild Ones', Calvin Harris - "Feel So Close" and you're not gonna believe what I've done to Karmin - "Broken Hearted" and Foster The People's – "Don't Stop". Believe it or not there's still much more so don't forget to tune in this weekend. Your gonna want to turn it up and rip the knob off.

Remember…"If it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix with HK™".

Here's some pics from the Hot Chelle Rae concert. Enjoy!!!
