Is Justin Bieber Overexposed?

Ahhh, to be 19 years old, the biggest pop star in the world, have the most twitter followers, Facebook fans, Youtube hits and the ability to throw yourself an over the top birthday party in London. Not bad for a kid who started out as the prepubescent boy wonder from Canada. So what if he lost his first love Selena, he can do whatever he wants right? Well, few could ever imagine what it's like to be in that position and most that are hit a point where they can't handle it. After seeing the recent photos coming out of London with Bieber's pants in their usual spot – halfway down his thighs with a hand in the pocket to try and hold them up, and the new added touch of no shirt - I'm wondering if Bieber has hit that point or if it's just a little boy turning into a man and saying hey I'm here…stop thinking of me as that little kid. Regardless of the answer, I think its time to ask the obvious question…is Justin Bieber over exposed (and I'm not just talking about the accompanying photo)?

In my attempt to keep the Biebs fresh I'm giving his "Beauty And a Beat" a fresh reworking this weekend, along with new HK remixes on Emeli Sande - "Next To Me", Will.I.Am/Britney Spears - "Scream and Shout" and Imagine Dragons - "It's Time". I'm also taking my sonic paint brush to Bruno Mars - "Locked In Heaven", Mumford and Sons - "I Will Wait", Olly Murs/Flo Rida - "Troublemaker" and if you got hit with that latest snow storm get ready for a serious meltdown when I bust out my take on "Thrift Shop", "Suit & Tie", "Ho Hey" and much much more!

My non-stop music mix takes over the airwaves this weekend!

The Secret Behind The Hits!

They say behind every great man is a great woman. This is true! I also like to say…”behind every great record is a great producer and engineer”. Because no matter how talented the artist or band is, no matter how much you like their voice, nothing – and I mean nothing will ever be worth listening to without the talented people behind the board who record, mix and master it for all to hear!

I do believe a hit record starts with a pen. Meaning – what the songwriter/composer originally wrote. But what happens between the paper and your ears is a world of high tech knob turning where so much can go right or wrong. And trust me when I tell you this is where it all happens. It's the difference between a hit and a mediocre record. There's a reason why The Grammy's® are put on and run by an organization called The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences. That's right people. They never really go by their long name, but the name says it all.

So, in the wake of Grammy week I couldn't help but put the HK sonic twist on Mumford & Sons - "I Will Wait" and Bruno Mars - "Locked Out of Heaven". I'm gonna have your head spinning and your body moving with my remixes on them plusCalvin Harris/Florence Welch - "Sweet Nothing" and Nicki Minaj and the Biebs. And that's just the first set! You do not want to miss this show, so check out In The Mix with HK this weekend and hear all your favorite hits like you've never heard them before!
