In The Mix With HK™ hit the road last weekend and performed live in Nashville, at Lucky Bastard Saloon on Broadway, during Bonnaroo weekend. Sophie Ellis-Bextor's iconic hit, “Murder on the Dancefloor,” has experienced a resurgence in popularity, thanks to its inclusion in the closing scenes of the acclaimed film, Saltburn. The song was originally released in 2001 as part of Ellis-Bextor’s debut album, “Read My Lips.” The track garnered significant attention upon its initial release, becoming the singer’s most successful song to date. However, its presence in Saltburn has reignited interest, leading to millions of additional streams and views.

As is always the question with Jennifer Lopez, will her relationship with Ben Affleck last this time around? Lil Nas X is raising eyebrows for the visuals in his video for his latest single, and it seems Ariana Grande lost over 400,000 followers on social media after her new single dropped days ago. Now 400k seems like an awful lot of people, and it is, but it won’t put a dent in her 380 million stalwart fans. So what is it about the lyrics of the song that pissed off so many people?

Brothers Adam, Jack and Ryan (AJR) are back In The Mix with an HK remix. The group is seeing early buzz on “Yes, I’m A Mess”. They’re also headlining their first ever arena tour, and in the middle of writing music for a new Broadway Show based on the classic children’s book…Harold and the Purple Crayon. Seeing as how AJR has made a career out of recording musical theater influenced albums, the collaboration seemed like a perfect fit.

 

Another perfect fit is all the music I’m working on for this week’s In The Mix With HK™. It’s the first show of the New Year and we’re kicking things off right. DUA LIPA GETS NFL INQUIREY AND HK REMIX

First, there was Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens. Then, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. If Patrick Queen has his way, the next celebrity and NFL couple will be PQ and singer Dua Lipa. Seemingly inspired by Kelce shooting his shot with Swift on his podcast and social media, Queen took to X to make his move.
