Hard Rock group Shinedown have a monster POP hit on their hands. A Symptom Of Being Human is becoming quite the earworm on pop radio. Has the group out grown their normally in your face sound for a softer one, or is this simply a musical fluke? Either way its a fantastic song that we broke In The Mix With HK™ and this week it gets a shiny new HK remix!

Along with that is plenty of bouncing beats from Meghan Trainor & T-Pain, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Jelly Roll and MORE. So set your weekend off right.

BEYONCE GETS AN HK REMIX

This was the week that Beyonce dropped Cowboy Carter, her 8th Studio album. Upon first look at the cover art, I thought I was having Deja-Vu. Queen B is once again on top of a steed. Seriously? Doesn’t one of the wealthiest and most powerful women on earth have more props in her photo closet? But I digress. Let’s talk music.

This week I feature a brand new HK Remix on Texas Hold ‘Em. Along with exclusive HK Remixes on Justin Timberlake, Noah Kahan, Jack Harlow, Teddy Swims, Benson Boone, Renee Rapp and MORE! VICTORIA MONET IS KILLING IT!

On the heels of winning a Best New Artist Grammy, and two others (that’s 3 Grammy Awards in one night), Victoria Monet continues to make noise on radio, the charts and everywhere else. A little noise in her life that she could do without, came from her young daughter on the Grammy red carpet. Victoria says she will not be bringing her daughter to another red carpet event for a few years. In the meantime, her daughter can still be seen with her in the studio while working on new music.

ONE REPUBLIC SAYS “I AIN’T WORRIED” WITH AN HK REMIX

One Republic’s latest hit, “I Ain’t Worried”, is from the soundtrack of the record breaking box office smash Top Gun: Maverick. Frontman Ryan Tedder jokes that the movie is doing all the promotion for them. “it was crazy watching it for the first time, because, basically, it’s a $200 million music video for our song,” Ryan laughs.

My remix is no joke and that In The Mix with HK™ EXCLUSIVE hits your ear drum this week. TONS OF NEW HITS ON IN THE MIX WITH HK™️

Drake dropped a new album without any pre-release hype or fanfare and what a surprise it was. Kinda has a chill EDM vibe to it. Beyonce’ just dropped “Break My Soul” a dance track with a classic House feel and speaking of dance, let’s not forget the new Calvin Harris/Dua Lipa collab called “Potion”. But wait…there’s more. I’m loving the new Eminem/Ceelo Green banger from the Elvis movie entitled “The King and I”. All of this makes me want to “Jiggle Jiggle” with Duke & Jones & Louis Theroux.

I’ve got some of that and more all this week on In The Mix with HK™️. Along with early summer faves from Harry Styles, Tate McRae, Kate Bush, Post Malone, Jack Harlow, Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello and more. Did I just say Shawn and Camila in the same sentence? Yes I did. Don’t miss a single minute.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE GETS FILTHY

Timberlake’s been a media magnet since he released Filthy, the first single off his upcoming album, Man of the Woods that’s set to drop on Feb. 2^nd. Filthy already has a #1 fan- according to his superstar parents, Silas, Justin’s two year old son, is said to sing the lyrics to himself in the mirror. Timberlake’s last album was out in 2013 so there’s a lot of hype, anticipation and speculation going around. One of Timberlake’s producers, Danja says to expect country, blues and soul from his latest endeavor. Whatever the album holds Justin’s upcoming tour has some extravagant VIP packages. One is offering a “Stage Bar” experience where ticket holders will watch the show from their very own bar stool right up against the stage. It also comes with an adult beverage drink ticket! Now that’s my kinda concert goin’!

So grab a beverage and get ready cause it’s a PARTY! This weekend’s In The Mix with HK™ is on FIRE with exclusive HK remixes on Eminem, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Niall Horan, Charlie Puth and Beyoncé! This week I’m spinning those musical alliances for double the fun as I bust out exclusive HK remixes on, Charlie Puth & Selena, Chainsmokers & Halsey, Britney & G-Eazy,  DJ Snake & the Biebs,  Sia & Sean Paul, Imagine Dragons ,Lil Wayne & Wiz and that's just getting the decks fired up! COUPLES MIX BIZ WITH PLEASURE ON IN THE MIX WITH HK™

Music and love go hand in hand and over the years there have been many a famous musical couple making hits together. From Sonny & Cher to Johnny Cash & June Carter musical romances have turned out great tunes and great tabloids. Katy Perry & John Mayer definitely had it going on. Now Gwen Stefani & Blake Shelton (FYI-on their second music power relationship) just dropped a new duet and are set to perform that track together on The Voice this Monday. But for me its Beyoncé & Jay Z that rule the romance/music collab world. Will Taylor Swift & Calvin be the next love birds to make beautiful music together and take the crown? Or will this week’s Pick To Hit™ artists, Zedd & Kesha’s True Colors turn into true romance and make them the new music power couple? I can’t wait to find out!

I REALLY can’t wait to hit the wheels of steel for your weekend party soundtrack! On tap for this week’s In The Mix with HK™ are exclusive HK remixes on Troy Sivan, Selena Gomez, Flo Rida, and Lukas Graham. Plus new bangers from Zedd f/ Kesha, Coldplay f/Beyoncé, Pink and Daya! It’s an all-out party jam you don’t want to miss!

Remember…if it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix with HK™.

SUPER BOWL - SUPER MUSIC!

We all love the game but don’t underestimate the entertainment for heating up the field! First, there’s the singing of the National Anthem. Six-time Grammy winner Lady Gaga will do the honors this year. The Star Spangled Banner is no easy song to belt out, but if Gaga nails it, like she did her tribute to The Sound of Music at last year’s Oscars, Levi’s Stadium will be blown away!

Of course Gaga is just getting the party started. Next up is the halftime show. A no holds barred musical extravaganza, not to mention a virtual album seller as well as pressure cooker for the artists invited to the party. Perform for one of the world’s biggest audiences for twelve minutes, all the while trying to make a killer definitive statement…no worries right? Who doesn’t love watching this stuff plus you never know if there will be another wardrobe malfunction! This year Coldplay and featured guest Beyoncé will take the midfield stage with about 115 million of us watching and ready to jam out! Oh yeah and there’s a football game too! You gotta love Super Bowl Sunday!

I’ll give you another reason to love Super Bowl weekend. I'll be making more moves on the decks than the Broncos and the Panthers on the field! So do the right thing and kick your Super Bowl weekend into epic party mode with my exclusive remixes on Coldplay, Rihanna & Drake, Justin Bieber, Adele, Tori Kelly and Charlie Puth. Plus brand new music from R.City, Borns, Mike Posner and even more surprises!

Remember…if it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix with HK™.

GRAMMY® WEEKEND ON IN THE MIX WITH HK™

This Sunday is music’s biggest night - The 57^th Grammy Awards, and it's goin' down in epic fashion!

Being a long time voting member of the Academy plus a previous Grammy® nominee I take the Grammy Awards very seriously. Record of the Year is a down and dirty fight. The nominees are: Iggy Azalea ft. Charli XCX – Fancy, Sia  – Chandelier, Sam Smith – Stay With Me (Darkchild Version), Taylor Swift – Shake It Off and Meghan Trainor – All About That Bass. What a wicked line up! I say give a statue to all of them! Then there’s the performance list for the show that reads like a who’s who of the music industry with Katy Perry, Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Madonna and Rihanna all on the roster!  DAMN!  I love Grammy night!

Even better than Grammy night is a Grammy weekend! I'm kicking off mine In The Mix with HK™ with featured brand spankin' new custom HK remixes on nominated artists like Hozier, Meghan Trainor, Sam Smith, Jessie J and Taylor Swift. I’ll also be talking to the band that’s been named one of MTV’s “Artists To Watch For 2015”- Priory. They’ll be givin’ up the goods on how the group and their new hit Weekend came to be. Of course there's plenty more so don't miss a single second!

Remember…if it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix with HK™.

RECORDING ARTISTS STILL BANK BIG BUCKS!

Despite record sales continuing to decline some recording artists are still bringing in big bucks. According to Wealth-X’s net worth valuation Madonna is topping the list with a whopping 800 million dollars. Sir Paul McCartney, who used to be on top, dropped to second place with $660m. Dr. Dre came in 3^rd with a not so shabby $650m. I knew I should have invested in headphones. Diddy came in 4^th with $640m and Celine Dion locked up the top 5 with $630m. In case you were wondering there are no financial issues in the Jay Z / Beyoncé house as they rank #8 and #10 with a combined net worth of $950m. Yeah that’s right practically one billion! That’s just a crazy amount of zeros.

Do you think those estimates are right? Well, don't sweat the fact that you and I have smaller bank accounts. Waaaaaay smaller bank accounts! We'll all be living large and in charge when I fire up the decks this weekend. I'm coming at you with non-stop exclusive HK remixes on Fall Out Boy, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Charli XCX, Calvin Harris, Jessie J and One Direction. Plus brand new joints from Fifth Harmony, Lillywood & Robin Schulz and Lights.

There's always some special surprises, so tune in!

Remember…If it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix With HK™.

HOOK-UPS AND BREAK-UPS!

Despite being on top of the world and now in the NFL Hall of Fame, Michael Strahan and his longtime girlfriend Nicole Murphy officially broke up. Nicole decided to drop the news just as Michael was being inducted. Woman scorned or coincidence? You decide. In the meantime, there's been a lot of rumors about Beyonce and Jay Z entering splitsville. Lady B was spotted checking out a new apartment alone, and in a brand new remix she blasts the Hov! Maybe we'll eventually find out what really lead up to the now famous elevator brawl. In another hotel incident Ed Sheeran sings his heart out and bares all in his latest hit single Don't, which is all about a break up for him and a hookup for his ex!

On a positive note – while frolicking in Ibiza, Spain Michelle Rodriguez and Zac Effron made out like two horny teenagers in a club. That hookup took place just a day after Michelle was frolicking on a boat with Justin Bieber. Ahh, to be young, famous and wealthy!

This weekend on IN THE MIX WITH HK™ I'm gonna bring you a taste of the good life by hooking you up with bad ass breaks and non-stop music mixes! Be sure to tune in to hear what I've done to Charlie XCX – Boom Clap, Enrique Iglesias – Bailando, Becky G – Shower and Mr. Probz – Waves. I've also got sonic make-overs on Meghan Trainor  - All About The Bass, Ariana Grande – Problem, Demi Lovato/CherLloyd – Really Don't Care and Iggy Azalea/Rita Ora – Black Widow. Plus my Pick To Hit and many more breaks and bangers.

Remember…if it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix With HK™.

WHAT MAKES A GREAT DJ!

This week the music community lost a legend. Frankie Knuckles the renowned DJ, remixer and record producer left us too soon. His contributions to the Music Industry and DJing are insurmountable. Talking with friends about Frankie’s mad skills got me thinking about what makes a great DJ.

Call it what you want…DJ, Mixer, Beat Juggler, Turntablist, or Mixologist - they are all pretty much one and the same. It’s the person behind the turntables, decks, ones & twos or wheels of steel whose manipulating the music and blending two or more songs into one. Mixing those beats that you never thought would fuse together and doin’ it when you least expected. Or, taking one song and remixing it live into a whole new sonic landscape. On the fly and totally improvised. When the DJ actually becomes one with the groove and melds him or herself into the musical fabric, it’s an amazing site to see and hear. They make their audience scream, dance, sweat and party at that club for hours after their alarm clock says they should’ve been making Z’s. There are various styles of DJing, tricks of the trade, types of gadgets and gear but what really makes a DJ great…is their ears!. Hearing the musicality of a wicked mix and holding the beat with only your ears as a guide…that’s what separates the good from the great. Frankie Knuckles was one of the best and a true legend. I know he will be keeping the mixes going cause heaven just got a new house mixer. Ain’t that the ultimate residency!

On this side of the pearly gates, get ready for some new mixes that are just jonesing to break loose. Beyoncé is gonna be “Drunk in Love” when she skids into Eminem’s “Headlights” and Tiesto’s “Red Lights” won’t be enough to stop Demi Lovato from singing “Neon Lights” when she’s ready.  It’s a mad lit up party you don’t want to miss and we haven’t even talked about custom HK remixes yet. Oooooh Yeah!!!…. Shakira featuring Rihanna – “Can’t Remember To Forget You”, Calvin Harris - “Summer”, Christina Perri – “Human”,  and Neon Trees “Sleeping With A Friend” plus more banging remixes you have to hear to believe! It’s all going down worldwide this Friday and Saturday night when you’re In The Mix with HK™!

Remember…"if it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The MIx with HK™".
