HAPPY THANKSGIVING

As the Thanksgiving weekend rolls in, we reflect on the warmth of the season—the joy of gathering with family, the laughter shared with friends, and the memories created around dinner tables. But there’s one gift that ties it all together, bringing every moment to life: music.

Here at In The Mix With HK™, we believe that music isn’t just a background beat—it’s the pulse that keeps our spirits high and our hearts full. This Thanksgiving, as you indulge in turkey, dance to your favorite tracks, and cherish the company of loved ones, let’s take a moment to be thankful for the soundtrack of our lives.

Why Music Matters

From childhood lullabies to road trip anthems and late-night dance floor hits, music is the invisible thread that connects memories. It lifts us up when we’re down, amplifies our happiness, and gets us moving—whether we’re in the kitchen prepping dinner or hosting the ultimate post-Thanksgiving dance party.

A Special Thanksgiving Mix

This weekend, tune in to our Thanksgiving Weekend Special, where we’ll serve up a feast of upbeat tracks, electrifying remixes, and the hottest dance hits. It’s the perfect backdrop for:

Kitchen Dance-offs: Who says cooking can’t be a party?

Family Dance Challenges: Show off those moves and create unforgettable moments.

Post-Dinner Groove: Burn off that pumpkin pie with a living room dance session!

A Heartfelt Thank You

To our listeners, station partners, and the amazing Radio Program Directors who bring our show to life every week: Thank you. You’re the heartbeat of our musical journey, and we’re grateful for your passion and support.

This Thanksgiving, let’s turn up the volume on gratitude. Celebrate life. Celebrate family. Celebrate music. Because in the mix of it all, that’s where the magic happens.

Wishing you a Thanksgiving filled with love, laughter, and endless beats. Stay tuned and stay thankful!

GRAMMYS GO POP!

This week the nominations for the next 68th Grammy Awards dropped — and the list is buzzing with major-pop-culture names dominating the field. Here’s a quick rundown of the headliners and what their presence signals.

  • Kendrick Lamar leads the charge with nine nominations, including everything from Album of the Year to Song of the Year.
  • Lady Gaga is right behind with seven nominations, marking another high-profile return to prominence.
  • Bad Bunny picked up six nominations, and notably becomes the first Spanish-language artist nominated in all three of the “big” Grammy categories (Album, Record, Song) in the same year.
  • Other big names: Sabrina Carpenter also has six nods; Justin Bieber appears in key categories; and artists like Tyler, the Creator, Billie Eilish and Rosé show up in surprising ways.

What this means

  • The mainstream-pop powerhouses are back in force — the ceremony isn’t solely underground/indie or genre-niche anymore. The “big budget stars doing big budget albums” are front and center.
  • Genre-blurring is real. Pop, Rap, Latin, Alternative all collide. Bad Bunny’s run in pop/major categories, Rosé’s K-pop connection, Tyler’s cross-genre push—these are signs the Recording Academy is embracing musical hybridity.
  • This means: pop superstars matter. Their nominations elevate attention, chart impact, streaming strategy, radio spins — and the narrative around them becomes content gold.

AJR - THE BIG GOODBYE

We’ve had AJR on the show, several times now. And I’ll tell you…the Met brothers never disappoint. Whether it’s on record or in person, they always bring their talent and personalities. Many people may not know it, but Adam Met is not only a fantastic musician, he's an extremely bright guy. He has a PHd in international human rights law and sustainable development. I remember he was getting close to completing it during our last interview. Now the boys are back with another great song called “The Big Goodbye”. But don’t worry. I believe they’re gonna be around for a long time.

This week tune into In The Mix With HK™ to hear my EXCLUSIVE HK REMIX on that track and many more. Including Alex Warren, Huntrix, Benson Boone, Myles Smith, Sombr, Disco Lines & Tinashe, the new track from David Guetta, Teddy Swims, Tones & I, and many MORE.

🔥 FROM THE DANCE FLOOR TO THE TOP 20! 🔥

For years the dance charts have been the launchpad—the spot where the future hits start before they blow up everywhere else. And right now we’re watching it happen in real time.

Just three months ago, Disco Lines & Tinashe’s “No Broke Boys” was holding down the #1 spot on the Dance charts. Fast forward to today and this track is charging up pop radio, already breaking into the Top 20.

And honestly…are we surprised? With Tinashe’s killer vocals and that signature Disco Lines bounce, this song SLAPS. It’s got the energy of a club anthem with the hooks of a straight-up pop smash.

So if you’re not bumpin’ it yet—get ready. Because “No Broke Boys” isn’t just a dance floor favorite anymore…it’s officially one of the hottest songs in the country.

Remember…  If it’s hot, if it’s new, and it makes you wanna move… you’re In The Mix with HK™.

FARM AID 40: MUSIC, LEGENDS, and MINNESOTA MAGIC

This past weekend I had the honor of being at Farm Aid 40—and let me tell you, it was one of those moments where music and mission collided in the most powerful way. For four decades, Farm Aid has been more than a concert—it’s been a movement, lifting up farming families and making sure their voices are heard.

Seeing Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews, and Bob Dylan take the stage reminded me why music matters. These legends didn’t just play songs—they’ve carried this cause for 40 years, using the power of melody, lyrics, and community to keep farmers on their land and food on our tables. Their performances weren’t just nostalgic; they were a reminder that art can change lives.

What made this year’s Farm Aid even more special? It was the first time ever in Minnesota. The energy was electric, the crowd was fired up, and the message was clear—family farmers are the backbone of America, and they need our support now more than ever.

Standing in the middle of it all, I couldn’t help but think how cool it is that a festival with roots in country, folk, and rock resonates with a crowd that spans generations—even those of us who live on Top 40 beats. Music is the universal language, and when legends speak through it, people listen.

Farm Aid 40 wasn’t just a concert—it was a call to action. And after this weekend in Minnesota, it’s clear that the next generation is ready to keep the movement alive.

ED SHEERAN IS BACK!

So get this — Ed Sheeran just dropped his eighth studio album this week (yes, eighth!), and he’s opening up about the early days of his career. Even though he was topping the charts and basically everywhere, he says those first 10 years were non-stop — just work, work, work — and behind the scenes, he was actually really unhappy. It’s wild to think that one of the biggest hitmakers of our time was struggling that hard while living the dream. Fame, huh?

What would you do if told you’re gonna bust your ass for 10 years, but by your early 30’s you will be one of the wealthiest and most famous musicians on the planet? I know what I would say. Yes please! This week on In The Mix With HK™ you will hear the fruits of my labor in the studio. Let’s go!!!

If you're not familiar with Jessie Murph yet, prepare to have your playlist shaken up. If you’ve been riding with us for a minute, you remember how much fun we had backstage chatting with Gracie and her brother Clyde. Total vibes, total talent, and total chaos (in the best way). So let’s go, Gracie!! The countdown is on, and we’re manifesting a win. Tune in Sunday night, and let’s cheer her on together. 💥🙌  After partying with me on In The Mix with HK™ of course.

Mr. 305 MEETS Mr. LIVIN’ ON A PRAYER

What do you get when you mix Miami heat with Jersey rock? A fire new anthem that nobody saw coming—but now nobody can stop blasting. Yep, Pitbull and Bon Jovi teamed up for a collab that’s shaking up playlists and turning heads across generations.

Their new track, “Now Or Never”, blends Pitbull’s club-ready swagger with Bon Jovi’s arena-shaking vocals—and somehow, it works in the most epic way. Picture this: a gritty guitar riff, a beat that demands movement, and lyrics that scream Friday night energy.

Whether you're pregaming with friends or cruising with the windows down, this track hits that sweet spot between retro and right now. It’s giving vintage cool meets new school hype—and we are here for it.

Is this the summer’s most unexpected banger? You decide. But one thing's for sure: Pitbull x Bon Jovi just proved that genre lines are made to be blurred—and danced all over. Tune in this week to hear my HK remix along with all your favorite jams!

Hit play, turn it up, and thank me later.
