TWENTY ONE PILOTS CONTINUE TO FLY HIGH ON IN THE MIX WITH HK™

Twenty One Pilots continue to dominate with three (count them 3!!!) of their hits well in the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100! Their album Blurryface has been on the album chart for a whopping 64 weeks and is still at No.3! The Suicide Squad movie soundtrack (on which Twenty One Pilots has their wonderfully eerie and mysterious track Heathens) is on course for a No.1 debut. And this week Tyler and Josh are back with HK for Part 2 of our exclusive interview. This week you'll learn what their favorite songs are to listen to and perform, how the duo’s new found success effected their family and friends and how they worked through their stage theatrics to get to the elaborate concert spectacle we see today. All this and more coming up this week on In The Mix with HK™!

When I say more I mean more custom HK remixes of all your favorite hits like you’ve never heard them before! Plus more new jams from Britney SpearsAndy Grammer, The 1975 and others! Rest, hydrate and repeat cause the beats are gonna be massive and the party epic!

ED SHEERAN AND LADY GAGA ARE GREAT GIFT GIVERS AND GETTERS!

I try to get creative with my gift giving but Ed Sheeran and Lady Gaga have me beat. Ed bought his folks a million-dollar flat right across the street from his home. Plus a new car. Well every house needs a car right? These wonderful presents do come with a caveat though - Ed’s parents will have to do some babysitting should the need arise in the future. Not to be out done Lady Gaga’s record label sent what Gaga describes as “a White Angel from heaven”. Interscope delivered a gorgeous white pony right to her door. Gaga wrote on Twitter “I will ride, and care for, and love her forever. I was so surprised!” Well yeah!!!

I have some stellar gifts for your inner ear! It’s a Christmas weekend party packed with killer jams and exclusive HK remixes on Ellie Goulding, Adele, Shawn Mendes, Drake, Elle King, Andy Grammer and One Direction. Then just when you think your speakers are going to blow…I’m droppin’ the needle on new tracks from Fall Out Boy, DNCE, Ariana Grande, Jess Glynne and so much more!

Remember…if it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix with HK™.

HAILEE STEINFELD LOVES HERSELF AND WE LOVE HER!

Hailee Steinfeld is a proven actress with an Oscar nomination under her belt for her teen role in True Grit. She has several other movies coming out this year and nailed her vocals in Pitch Perfect 2, but what has my attention is her first original single Love Myself. Steinfeld said of her music career vs acting: ”Music is the most moving art form. It moves in such a personal way. There’s something about the control you have --- I love it”. Her new debut single has been described as a self –empowerment song that is a cross between Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive and DivinylsI Touch Myself. Hailee says “the song is about taking care of yourself, weather that means physically, emotionally or with material things. There’s a power in being able to provide for yourself. Being able to say, I love myself”. And I LOVE her track which apparently puts me with the masses as it is climbing up the charts! Look for her EP to drop later this year and check out her killer music video below.

This weekend I've got killer exclusive remixes you can only hear on IN THE MIX WITH HK™. So tune in and turn it up when I reinvent tracks from R.City/Adam Levine, Audien feat. Lady Antebellum, Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Demi Lovato and more! Plus my re-imagined takes on Nick Jonas, The Weeknd and Jess Glynne. I'm also featuring new music from Andy Grammer, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Elle King and others.

ARIANA GRANDE VS. TAYLOR SWIFT - A PUBLIC RELATIONS HOW TO

God knows I love Ariana’s voice and songs. But that donut incident was seriously messed up and Ariana’s getting a lot of shade over it. Since Taylor Swift is one of today's best loved young artists, not to mention "The Most Charitable Celeb of 2014",  I’m thinking taking her lead might be genius. So Ariana here you go:

Ariana:

  1. Only lick donuts that you have purchased. The general public doesn’t like you enough to eat your  saliva.
  2. Never, ever, ever say you hate America… or any country, anyone or pretty much anything. If you must hate something, hate haters. Their always safe.
  3. Do NOT by any means do an insincere video apology that just makes you look even worse.
  4. Do NOT do a second insincere video apology that just makes you look even worse than you did prior to the first lame apology.

Ariana Do Follow Taylor Swift's Lead Here:

  1. Do donate $50,000.00 to help pay the medical bills for a girl with cancer.
  2. Do defend your fellow artists in a professional way and make Apple pay out the royalties that artist have coming to them.
  3. Do ask fans to star in one of your music videos.
  4. Do send Christmas care packages to your biggest fans.
  5. Throw a private concert for a 6-Year-Old with Leukemia.
  6. Bring waiting fans a bunch of Pizzas (I mean, who doesn’t love pizza).
  7. Do visit a fan wo was hit by a car and is getting better after brain surgery (That is sooo nice. I mean, any celeb can give money but when they give their time that is really cool).
  8. Do donate all proceeds from your single about NYC to the NYC public schools.
  9. Study Tay-Tay’s every move and do all the sweet, kind, loving things that she does….Your welcome!
Ok, now that class is out of session, let's turn up the summer heat. Get ready for EXCLUSIVE HK remixes on David Guetta-Nicki Minaj, Skrillex-Diplo-Bieber, Tove Lo, OMI, Andy Grammer, Major Lazer, Ed Sheeran and more! Plus brand new joints from Kaya Stewart, MKTO, Jason Derulo and Jess Glynne.

WHAT REALLY MATTERS!

Big headlines this week were about gun control, a massive stabbing rampage on a college campus and possible nuclear war from North Korea. Yet in the middle of all of that, I still saw headlines about Justin Beiber cutting his hair like Skrillex and RihannaTaylor Swift no longer wearing eye liner and Ray J dropping a new track called "I Hit It First" - a total diss to both Kanye West and his baby bump mama Kim K. Let's not forget Louis Anderson is out from the show Splash (what knuckle head tv exec came up with this idea). Plus, it was an emotional week on DWTS and we all want to know is Mariah Carey to soft? Will Nicki Minaj be back? Ahh!!! Isn't it great to know that no matter what serious things are going on in the world…America will always have it's guilty pleasures. What do you think?

What really matters to me is my family, friends, music and all of the above. You see I'm a news junkie. The bad, the good and the ugly. And when the events of the day are bad, it's nice to lose yourself in the superfluous. Another thing I can always lose myself in is the groove, and man did I get lost this week. I've got a bevy of sonic gems ready to bust out this weekend. I'm talking a whole new crop of HK ear-gasims! Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - "Can't Hold Us", Hot Chelle Rae - "Hung Up", Justin Timberlake - "Mirrors" and Demi Lovato - "Heart Attack". I'm also stoked for you to hear what I've done to Emeli Sande - "Next to Me", Fall Out Boy - "My Songs Know What You Did", Calvin Harris - "Sweet Nothing" and the new club banger from Will. I.Am & Justin Beiber - "#thatpower". There's all that and plenty of other surprises. We're also going back stage to talk with Andy Grammer, so don't miss a second of this week's In The Mix with HK™.

ANDY GRAMMER GETS IN THE MIX WITH HK!

Andy Grammer's spring tour is now well under way and we caught his sold out show with Parachute. This tour is a wonderful matchup cause both acts have a distinct musical feel and connection with their audience and are truly great friendly people. I'm talking totally cool, sit down, let's hang and shoot the s**t people.

In addition to everything off his debut album entitled…Andy Grammer, including the hit singles "Keep Your Head Up" and "Fine By Me, Andy did several interesting covers including a reinvention of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis's "Thrift Shop". This talented singer, songwriter and producer seems to be having as much fun performing as the audience is listening. He's still cushing over how surprised he is to have people coming to his shows and I hope he never looses that sincere humility.

In the upcoming weeks I look forward to sharing my interview with Andy along with some seriously hot new bangers I've been in the studio working on. I'm not kidding people…It's getting mad crazy in here. I've got back to back beats and non-stop music mixes – which means no commercial interruptions for you newbies! For my sonic veterans who know what to expect, get ready for a new crop of HK ear-gasims. I'm bringin' the spring heat with the likes of Bruno Mars - "When I Was Your Man", Zedd f/Foxes - "Clarity" and Krewella - "Alive". I'll also be holding court with a brand new take on the Will.I.Am/Justin Bieber thumper "#thatpower", Demi Lovato - "Heart Attack" and Of Monsters and Men - "Little Talks".

There's way to much ear candy to list here, but I do feel compelled to pull back the curtain and prepare you for TOTALLY new reinvented takes on "All Around The World", "Daylight", "Suit & Tie", "Thrift Shop", "With Ur Love" and "Sweet Nothing". Damm! I probably shouldn't tell you this, but…you need to be listening this week if your gonna hear my exclusive take on Justin Timberlake - "Mirrors". There…I said it…I shouldn't have, but the cats now out of the bag!
