Imagine Dragons On Tour And In The Mix with HK (Photos)

Imagine Dragons is currently on tour and I recently caught one of their shows with opening act Atlas Genius. What I love about these guys  is their melding of sounds drawn from many different influences and their intuitive take on the right elements for a commercial single. The group is currently riding high on the charts with "It's Time" from the album Night Visions. Make sure you check out my latest remix of the track when I present it In The Mix with HK™ this weekend.

I've also got killer re-imagined mixes on Maroon 5 - "Daylight", Justin Timberlake & Jay Z - "Suit & Tie", Of Monsters and Men - "Little Talks" and the brand new and much hyped Emeli Sande - "Next To Me". I've gotten a huge response to the HK injected Mumford and Sons, Bruno Mars and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis f/Wanz, so be on the look out for that. Plus new music from Cher Lloyd - "With Ur Love", Justin Bieber f/Ludacris – "All Around The World" and Rihanna f/Mikky Ekko - "Stay".

There's even more surprises so don't miss a second of it.

Remember…if it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix with HK™.

Justin Timberlake On Fire & In The Mix with HK

Justin Timberlake is on fire! Several successful movies behind him (proving he can hold his own on the big screen), a recent marriage to another Hollywood hottie, a smokin' hot new single with Jay-Z (first music in a loooong time – due to that new acting career), a spot on performance at the Grammy Awards and the announcement of a new summer tour. Hey! what's the matter? Not enough for you? Well, we wouldn't want him to get bored, so how about the latest JT news. He's recorded a song with Marcus Mumford from Mumford & Sons. Ok! You just gave yourself whiplash. I know, I thought the same thing. It's a track for a new Coen Brothers movie - "Inside Llewyn Davis", which Justin is also starring in.

I'm gonna put on my "Suit and Tie" and rock both these dudes work with some serious HK remixes on them and others. Make sure you're tuned into In The Mix with HK™ this weekend to hear what I've done to Imagine Dragons - "It's Time", Of Monsters and Men - "Little Talks" and Bruno Mars - "Locked Out of Heaven". And that's just a few of the songs in the first set. I've also got a sonic eargasim planned on Swedish House Mafia, Fall Out Boy, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, The Script and the new one from Chris Wallace - "Remember When (Push Rewind)".

There's gonna be lots of great stuff and you don't want to miss it. So get ready to hit the record button.

“Thrift Shop” Is Big Bucks

I cannot get this song by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, featuring Wanz out of my cranium. Two weeks ago “Thrift Shop” went platinum and it now has captured the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 knocking out Bruno Mars’ “Locked out of Heaven”. Even more astonishing is knowing that when this album was released last October, it immediately went to #1 on iTunes album download chart and #2 on the Billboard 200. And to top it all off the song and album were released on Macklemore’s independent label. That's right! The second biggest selling album in the country and the current number one song in the country with over one million in sales and 65 million youtube views has no association with a major label. Way to go guys. As Macklemore would say…"this is f**king awesome"!!!

If you love “Thrift Shop” as much as I do you gotta hear my custom HK remix of it. Also get ready for  smokin’ remixes of “Try” - Pink, "Scream & Shout" – Will.I.AM/Britney Spears, "Rest of My Life" – Ludacris/Usher/David Guetta, “C’mon – Kesha and “Lessons In Love” from Neon Trees. After I “Catch My Breath” with Kelly Clarkson,  I'm droppin new reworkings of “Don’t Stop The Party’ – Pitbull, “Daylight” – Maroon 5 and a whole lot more. Don't miss any of this sonic meltdown. Be sure to tune into In The Mix with HK™ this weekend!

It's Gonna Be A Long Cold Diva Winter

For many of us it already seems like the Mariah Carey – Nicki Minaj show, also known as American Idol, ended. After months and months of stories and pre-airing hype I feel like I know everything that happens. Oh! I'm sorry. Wait a minute! Isn't this show about average people pursuing their dreams and becoming stars over night. That's right! We all just forgot for a minute. It bothers me that American Idol has become all about the judges. But with all the seasons they have under their belt, plus added competition from other networks, there isn't much else they can do to promote the franchise.  And with all that said…they still are the best at discovering and creating REAL music stars. The Voice, which is actually my favorite of all music shows, is the best at keeping the focus on the bidding talent. But they've yet to yield even a nominal music star. Is Cassadee Pope going to be the first? Regardless…it's a good thing Christina Aguilera is taking the next season off from The Voice, cause 5 octave Mariah (xtina is 4) and new diva on the block Nicki will be sucking all the oxygen out of the atmosphere this winter.

And speaking of winter, if you think I spent most of last year locked away in a studio, wait to you hear what happens when it's cold and you don't wanna go outside. I'm putting the HK sonic touch on all your fav's this week. Get ready for ear-gasims on "Rest of My Life" – Ludacris/Usher/David Guetta, "Scream & Shout" – Will.I.AM/Britney Spears, "Sweet Nothing" – Calvin Harris f/Florence Welch and the new banger from Macklamore & Ryan Lewis f/Wanz – "Thrift Shop". By the time it's all over you'll be in a puddle of sweat after grooving on my remixes of Rihanna, Pitbull, Alicia Keys and Swedish House Mafia. But wait there's more. Are you sitting down? Even Ed Sheeran, The Script, Neon Trees and The Cab will fall into the sonic bliss known as In The Mix with HK™. I've got all that plus new music from Sean Kingston, The Ready Set, Conor Maynard, Owl City and more!!

Lighting Up The Decks and Mixin' Up The Mistletoe

It's finally here. The weekend before xmas. By now I hope you decked the halls, got those last minute gifts like Cassadee Pope and are ready to hang with family, friends and truly take in the blessing of the holiday season.

For many this year did not go well. Loss of a job, loss of income, loss of a home and everything you own, or for many even worse…the loss of a loved one.  The events of the Sandy Hook tragedy, Super Storm Sandy, the mall shooting in Oregon and the loss of friends and family that happen every day without making headlines is and should be a reminder of just how precious life is. As I wrote under my high school picture years ago…"Live, love and enjoy today for tomorrow is promised to no one". So this holiday season and in the coming year – live more, love more and enjoy more!

In my personal effort to get this energy going I'll be lighting up the decks and mixin' up the mistletoe In The Mix with HK™. So tune in to hear exclusive HK remixes on all your favorite hits. I'm droppin' bangin new beats on Bruno Mars - "Locked Out of Heaven", the hot new dance floor smoker from Ludacris-Usher-David Guetta - "Rest of My Life" and Pitbull - "Don't Stop The Party". And that's just the first set. You'll be beggin' for a towel and water before I even roll out new jams from Sam And The Womp - "Bom Bom", Macklamore & Ryan Lewis - "Thrift Shop" and Taylor Swift - " I Knew You Were Trouble". There's so much going on in this weeks show there isn't enough room in this blog to talk about it. All I can say is you don't want to miss what I've done to Rihanna, One Republic, Swedish House Mafia, Nicki Minaj and I've got a special surprise. I'm gonna inject some HK flavor into a classic rock icon.

Remember…"If it's hot, if it's new, and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix with HK™".
