HOOK-UPS AND BREAK-UPS!

Despite being on top of the world and now in the NFL Hall of Fame, Michael Strahan and his longtime girlfriend Nicole Murphy officially broke up. Nicole decided to drop the news just as Michael was being inducted. Woman scorned or coincidence? You decide. In the meantime, there's been a lot of rumors about Beyonce and Jay Z entering splitsville. Lady B was spotted checking out a new apartment alone, and in a brand new remix she blasts the Hov! Maybe we'll eventually find out what really lead up to the now famous elevator brawl. In another hotel incident Ed Sheeran sings his heart out and bares all in his latest hit single Don't, which is all about a break up for him and a hookup for his ex!

On a positive note – while frolicking in Ibiza, Spain Michelle Rodriguez and Zac Effron made out like two horny teenagers in a club. That hookup took place just a day after Michelle was frolicking on a boat with Justin Bieber. Ahh, to be young, famous and wealthy!

This weekend on IN THE MIX WITH HK™ I'm gonna bring you a taste of the good life by hooking you up with bad ass breaks and non-stop music mixes! Be sure to tune in to hear what I've done to Charlie XCX – Boom Clap, Enrique Iglesias – Bailando, Becky G – Shower and Mr. Probz – Waves. WILL THERE EVER BE ANOTHER MICHAEL JACKSON?

This week marks five years since the King Of Pop passed. It makes me wonder if we’ll ever see another individual impact pop music to the degree that Michael Jackson has. He started his career at the age of 6 and wrote and recorded original work for four decades. The Gloved One holds the title of bestselling album of all time with Thriller, which has been certified 29 times (yes you read that right) Platinum by to the RIAA. I was about to list his many hits, but why???  You know them all. Hell, you may even know the choreography to most of them. I was lucky enough to see Michel Jackson preform live and believe me, it was a performance I’ll never forget. When he stepped on a stage it was sheer magic. And after seeing hundreds of concerts, no one, despite how good they may be, has ever given off the sheer electricity he did. He was absolutely riveting to watch and listen to!

Recording Academy President, Neil Portnow said it best: "Rarely has the world received a gift with the magnitude of artistry, talent, and vision as Michael Jackson. He was a true musical icon whose identifiable voice, innovative dance moves, stunning musical versatility, and sheer star power carried him from childhood to worldwide acclaim. A 13-time Grammy recipient, Michael's career transcends musical and cultural genres and his contributions will always keep him in our hearts and memories."  Michael Jackson may no longer with us but his music is certainly livin’ on. It was recently announced that MJ makes history again with Love Never Felt So Good with Justin Timberlake making him the only artist with top 10 hits on the Hot 100 in each of five decades (six if you include his work with the Jackson 5).

I'M GONNA SHUT IT DOWN!

So let me get this right…the people who run our government don't have to go to work cause they can't agree on a spending bill. Yet, when all is said and done – after days and possibly weeks off they'll strike an agreement and pay themselves retroactively. Plus keep those amazing government health plans. Yeah that's right! And it's all paid for by you and me. Wouldn't it be great if you got paid to stay home when you couldn't agree with your co-workers! Wait…that's crazy…and exactly my point. Hmmm, PEOPLE – why do we continue to let this happen. Speak out and contact your politicians.

In protest I'm gonna shut it down this weekend. But don't worry, that's a good thing! I'm gonna "Roar" with my latest remix of Katy Perry. We're gonna feel like "Royals" with Lorde and we'll console each other about our "Summertime Sadness" and impending "Sweater Weather". I'm hoping to make us all feel a little bit "Closer" and "I Wish" I could keep it going "All Night". There will be a point in the evening where you'll say to yourself "What Now" HK. Don't worry you're not going "Berzerk". The "Demons" in Washington will get this resolved and once again all will be "Safe and Sound".

So tune in this weekend and find out what all the "Applause" is about.

Remember…If it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix with HK™.

Imagine Dragons On Tour And In The Mix with HK (Photos)

Imagine Dragons is currently on tour and I recently caught one of their shows with opening act Atlas Genius. What I love about these guys  is their melding of sounds drawn from many different influences and their intuitive take on the right elements for a commercial single. The group is currently riding high on the charts with "It's Time" from the album Night Visions. Make sure you check out my latest remix of the track when I present it In The Mix with HK™ this weekend.

I've also got killer re-imagined mixes on Maroon 5 - "Daylight", Justin Timberlake & Jay Z - "Suit & Tie", Of Monsters and Men - "Little Talks" and the brand new and much hyped Emeli Sande - "Next To Me". I've gotten a huge response to the HK injected Mumford and Sons, Bruno Mars and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis f/Wanz, so be on the look out for that. Plus new music from Cher Lloyd - "With Ur Love", Justin Bieber f/Ludacris – "All Around The World" and Rihanna f/Mikky Ekko - "Stay".

There's even more surprises so don't miss a second of it.
