THE MAN WITH THE MIDAS TOUCH...ZEDD

Bebe Rexha and country artists Florida Georgia Line have a double genre hit with their collab Meant To Be. Zedd has now tapped into that country magic with his new track, The Middle, featuring vocals by Grammy award winning country artist Maren Morris. But that’s where the country connection begins and ends. Unlike the Bebe/FGL song, “The Middle” is a straight up POP song that makes you want to dance. And considering Zedd’s success with producing female vocalists expect this one to go straight to the top. He’s had hits in the past with Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Alessia Cara, Haley Williams, Hailee Steinfeld and Foxes. I personally believe that he is one of the most talented Producer, DJ, Artists in the game!

When it comes to his experience working with Maren Morris, Zedd told People Magazine… “Grey and I went through roughly 15 different vocalist – mostly pop and lots of A-Listers – but it just didn’t fit. Then I jetted off to Nashville to meet Morris and within 30 minutes knew she was the one”.  Zedd says… “It had nothing to do with country. I don’t care about the genre you’re in. If you sing the song and I want to cry, then I know it’s perfect.”

SUPER BOWL - SUPER MUSIC ON IN THE MIX WITH HK™

We all love the game but don’t underestimate the entertainment for heating up the field! First, there’s the singing of the National Anthem. Three-time Grammy winner P!nk will do the honors this year. Of course P!nk’s just getting the party started. The halftime show is the main musical event. A no holds barred extravaganza, not to mention a virtual album seller as well as pressure cooker for the artists invited to the party. Perform for one of the world’s biggest audiences for twelve minutes, all the while trying to make a killer definitive statement…no worries right? This year Justin Timberlake will take the mid-field stage with about 115 million of us watching and ready to jam out! Oh yeah and there’s a football game too! You gotta love Super Bowl Sunday!

ZEDD GETS IN THE MIX WITH HK™ AND HE AIN'T "STARVING"

Zedd has another hit on his hands as the featured producer on Hailee Steinfeld and Grey's infectious track Starving. He sits down with me this week to discuss the very surprising reason he got into Djing, what it's like being a ghost producer for others (will he name names?) and why he thought he could make money in the music business. Zedd certainly is not your typical EDM Producer/DJ. Even though he’s a multi-platinum, Grammy award-winning artist, some may not realize the extent of his vast talent and experience. From early childhood music was a big part of his daily routine. Raised by two classically trained musicians, Zedd began playing piano when only four years old. At times, throughout his childhood he wrote a song a day. By the age of twelve he learned to play the drums, shortly after joined a hardcore/metal trio. As a pre-teen Zedd was composing and producing rock songs in his band's studio. Fast forward to today and Zedd’s gift of musicality, knowledge of various genres, instrumentation, production and composition has make Zedd the extraordinary artist he is. His song credits range from Producer, Composer, Vocals, Keyboards to Mixing, Mastering, Editing and Remixing. Just three days ago Zedd added the League of Legends World Championship theme song Ignite to his list of credits. Apparently not only gamers approve, as Ignite has over 6.5 million views on YouTube!
