NOTHING DELICATE ABOUT TAYLOR SWIFT'S SUCCESS

Taylor Swift continues to break records as a musical powerhouse. On the heels of her new single Delicate, Her Reputation album has become the only album released in the last two years to sell 2 Million copies in the U.S. And if that wasn’t enough of a feat - all six of her studio albums have now sold over 2 million copies. With album sales steadily declining that is one big reason for Miss Swift to celebrate!

For me, the weekend is always a great reason to celebrate! So I’ve got your weekend party jams lined up and ready for takeoff! Tune in for custom HK remixes on Niall HoranSelena Gomez and MarshmelloJack & JackBruno Mars and Cardi BG-Eazy and Halsey and of course Taylor Swift. SUPER BOWL - SUPER MUSIC ON IN THE MIX WITH HK™

We all love the game but don’t underestimate the entertainment for heating up the field! First, there’s the singing of the National Anthem. Three-time Grammy winner P!nk will do the honors this year. Of course P!nk’s just getting the party started. The halftime show is the main musical event. A no holds barred extravaganza, not to mention a virtual album seller as well as pressure cooker for the artists invited to the party. Perform for one of the world’s biggest audiences for twelve minutes, all the while trying to make a killer definitive statement…no worries right? Who doesn’t love watching this stuff plus you never know if there will be another wardrobe malfunction! This year Justin Timberlake will take the mid-field stage with about 115 million of us watching and ready to jam out! Oh yeah and there’s a football game too! You gotta love Super Bowl Sunday!

I’ll give you another reason to love Super Bowl weekend. I’ve got possession of the perfect soundtrack to kick things off! It’s gonna be a party blitz with exclusive HK remixes on Dua LipaN.E.R.D. RihannaP!nkG-Eazy & HalseyMacklemore, MaxSelena Gomez and so much more! I’ll be punting new beats from Kesha featuring Dap-Kings and of course Zedd featuring Maren Morris and Grey. You never know how the big game will turn out but I know we’re gonna be turnin’ it out this weekend.

G-EAZY AND HALSEY MAKE BEAUTIFUL MUSIC TOGETHER

Is Halsey really Bad At Love?  From the looks of her thang with G-Eazy - she’s now good at love and good at writing love songs too. Halsey & G- Eazy wrote Him & I together about their real life romance and it’s now heating up the charts along with their dressing rooms and bedroom. Watch out Jay Z and Beyoncé. There’s a new “it” couple in the music industry!

I’ve got just what you need to heat up your winter weekend! A crateful of new jams and HK remixes on both Halsey’s track and her duet with G-Eazy. And I CAN NOT WAIT to play with bangers from Dua Lipa, Sam SmithClean BanditWalk The MoonSelena Gomez & Marshmello. Plus new tracks from Maroon 5Lost KingsP!nkJustin Timberlake and so much more! Rest up cause it’s gonna be a weekend full of eargasams!

THE BOYS ARE BACK!

The Top 10 Artists of 2017 have been named by Billboard and they are all men. Don’t worry ladies, we know you’ll rule again. (Wait…I was just reminded that you always rule.) For me it’s hard to believe there isn’t one single female act on the list. It’s even harder to believe that this is the third time the entire Top 10 have been all-male acts or solo men. The last time the guys dominated the year-end chart was way back in 1984. So where’s the female representation? It looks like hip-hop acts had a big voice on the charts and that’s pretty much a male–dominated genre. Plus pop’s two biggest stars, Adele and Taylor Swift, were between albums for most of the chart year. So who’s the big guy winner this year? With his second No. 1 album and a plethora of hit singles including the No. 1 song of the year- Ed Sheeran has been named 2017 Top Artist.

My year-end show will contain many of the year’s top artists and top hits, but this weekend I’m bringing the current and new musical heat on In The Mix with HK™! Get ready to shake your mistletoe with exclusive HK remixes on Selena Gomez & Marshmello, NF, Clean Bandit feat. Julia Michaels, P!nkKhalidMacklemore feat. Kesha and of course Ed Sheeran. Plus new bangers from Bebe Rexha, BTS, G-Eazy & Halsey and Axwell & Ingrosso are gonna be droppin’ like snowflakes in a blizzard. And that’s just getting’ the Yule Log lit! I’m packing all sorts of mad crazy beats to set your holiday party off!

COUNTDOWN TO THE GRAMMYS

Music’s biggest night is just a month away. Of course I’m talking about the Grammy Awards. As someone who’s been lucky enough to be a long time voting member of the Recording Academy, a previous Grammy nominee and Governor on the Board of the Grammys, as well as had the pleasure of working on 5 Grammy Award winning projects - I take the awards very seriously. The question I get asked most about the process (aside from “who ya voting for?”) is… "what’s the difference between Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year". These are two of the nights biggest awards. Come on, let's face it!!! We’re talking about the one song that ruled the year in music here! The Record Of The Year category recognizes the artist’s performance as well as the overall contributions of the producer(s), recording engineer(s) and/or mixer(s) if other than the artist. Basically those creative, often behind the scene, magicians who worked to make that song sound amazing. The Song Of The Year category is strictly a songwriters award and recognizes the incredible songwriter(s).

This week I’ll be recognizing some of the hottest tracks by means of re-imagined sonic productions! Get ready for exclusive HK remixes on Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Sia and Flume. All 2017 Grammy nominees by the way, plus wicked beats from Bruno Mars, Martin Garrix & Bebe Rexha, Little Mix, Dua Lipa and Camilla Cabello. And of course there’re always brand new bangers with an HK twist. Like G-Eazy, Fitz & The Tantrums, Ed Sheeran, the Best New Artist nominee The Chainsmokers and so much more! Let’s get this party started!

HEY VIOLET AND MORE THIS WEEK ON IN THE MIX WITH HK™

The LA based group Hey Violet began as the 4 girl hard rock band Cherri Bomb while its members were still in middle school. Since its inception the group has had a change of musical direction to punk-pop, the parting of a member, addition of guitarist and a bassist and is no longer an all-female band. They’ve  signed to 5 Seconds of Summer’s Label Hi Or Hey Records and have a new single Guys My Age making noise on the Pop charts!

This weekend I can’t help but make some noise with a custom HK remix on Hey Violet’s latest track Guys My Age plus the new hits from Charli XCX, G-Eazy, Clean Bandit & Anne-Marie! Also coming to this mix party are fresh beats from Zayn feat. Ms. Swift, Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Ariana Grande, Maroon 5, The Weeknd, Shawn Mendes, Hailee Steinfeld and SO MUCH MORE! The bass is gettin’ low and the volume’s goin’ up!

COLLABORATIONS RULE THE CHARTS!

Collaborations have always been a recipe for success in the music biz. Double the talent, double the fan base, double the chance of a hit. Flume's new collab with Kia will get a little HK flava, Coldpay & Beyoncé have the Hymn For The Weekend and Calvin & Rihanna know This Is What You Came For. So don’t miss a bangin’ beat. I promise to bring the music if you bring the food and cold beverages!

RUTH B FOUND A HIT WITH LOST BOY [VIDEO]

Ruth B’s song Lost Boy got its start in a fairytale kinda way! Just two years ago Ruth was a teenager playing piano and singing covers, then uploading them to Vine from her childhood bedroom. But it was the day that the Canadian singer/songwriter and college student had finished binge watching the TV show Once Upon A Time that the real magic began. Ruth sat at her keyboard and played around with random chords singing different words. One of the lines she sang was: “I am a lost boy from Neverland, usually hanging out with Peter Pan”. Ruth said she didn’t think much of it but she posted it on Vine because it kept ringing in her head. One week later the Vine of that little line had 85,000 likes with people asking for more. So Ruth would come home after school and write a new line to the song and post it, eventually she says “I had a chorus”. Amazingly, Vine users were able to see the evolution of the song in real-time. It didn’t take long for major-labels to find those Lost Boy snippets and soon Ruth’s desires to become a lawyer were sprinkled with pixie dust and turned into musical dreams.

I’ll be sprinkling pixie dust on the ones and twos this weekend when I bring you an exclusive HK remix of Ruth B’s Lost Boys that will have Peter Pan jammin! Get your party pants on cause I'm also featuring exclusives this week on Justin Timberlake, Flume f/Kai, Zayn, G-Eazy/Bebe Rexha, Pink, Mike Posner, Twenty One Pilots and more! Plus new surprises from Calvin Harris/Rihanna, Kiiara and Julien Creance. And, there might even be a re-imagined HK classic in there!

HK TALKS WITH SHAWN HOOK - THIS WEEK ON IN THE MIX WITH HK™

Hot off appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Entertainment Tonight  Shawn Hook joins me this weekend to chat about Canadian fans vs U.S. fans, the long road to success and so much more! His current track Sound Of Your Heart (clicking over 30,000,000 streams on Spotify) introduced him to America but this Canadian singer, songwriter and producer is no overnight success. At the age of 4, Shawn studied piano at The Royal Conservatory and by high school he was playing piano and trombone in a jazz big band while writing and recording his own music. Shawn went on to the Art Institute in Vancouver to study audio engineering. Then in 2004 he released his first album and his passion for music has been growing ever since!

My passion to bring you the best weekend party soundtrack is in overdrive! Sparks will be flying when I drop the needle on custom HK remixes of Zayn, G-Eazy featuring Bebe Rexha, Gwen Stefani, Usher and Mike Posner! I’m also spinnin’ new bangers from Ariana Grande, Jason Derulo and AlunaGeorge! Plus my exclusive interview with Shawn Hook is gonna be off the hook (pun totally intended)! It’s all going down right here this weekend!

HK REMIXES A QUINCY JONES REMAKE

Grace is the 19 year old Australian, singer songwriter who is making noise with her rendition of You Don’t Know Me, the 60’s hit that was originally produced by Quincy Jones for Lesley Gore. After meeting Grace at a charity benefit and hearing her sultry moody voice, Jones suggested the two hit the studio to remake You Don’t Know Me. Amazingly, Grace was exactly Gore’s age when Quincy produced the hit for her. On this go round G-Eazy adds his rhymes, pumping this iconic feminist anthem up with some 21st century flava. I’m gonna be pumpin’ up the jam this weekend when I remix the remake!

Get ready to turn the volume up when I bust the groves with exclusive HK remixes on Justin Bieber, Twenty One Pilots, Shawn Hook and Flo Rida. Not one to EVER forget the ladies – Selena, Ariana, Iggy, Sia and of course Grace will be lighting up the decks with their hot singles! And that is just getting the party started! Don’t miss a single banging beat!

CAN SIA STRIKE GOLD WITH REJECTION?

Sia, the highly prolific hit maker, vocalist and songwriter is dropping her latest album This Is Acting next week! It’s comprised of songs she wrote for - and were rejected by - such stars as Katy Perry, Rihanna and Adele. With Sia’s incredible talent and passion chances are good that their loss will be Sia’s gain. The album’s first single Alive was written by Sia, Adele and Tobias Jesso Jr. and produced by Jesse Shatkin who also co-wrote and co-produced Sia’s huge four-time Grammy nominated smash Chandelier. I’m hoping Sia will have us swinging from a chandelier again with her latest outing.

I’m gonna have you swinging from chandeliers when I drop the needle on this weekend’s In The Mix with HK™! Get ready for exclusive HK remixes on…Elle King, The Weeknd, Selena Gomez, The Chainsmokers, Ellie Goulding and tons more! Plus brand new bangers from David Guetta/Sia, Diplo & Sleepy Tom, Shawn Hook and G-Eazy feat. Bebe Rexha. I'm also gonna revisit a classic from David Bowie and pull another surprise out of my road bag.
