The MTV VMA's and Emmy's are now behind us. What did you think? Did the VMA's live up to the hype? Did your favorite television show or actor take home the gold. Breaking Bad cleaned up and I couldn't be happier. That show will go down as one of the best written, directed and acted shows to ever hit the small screen. And I gotta tell you…I think this year's VMA's were one of the best. There were great performances, no BS antics and more professionalism than ever before. That's something it always lacked. In previous years the spotlight seemed to be more on shock value than substance!

RIXTON GETS IN THE MIX WITH HK™

Although they’re boys and are a band, Rixton isn’t your typical “Boy Band”. They have been writing and playing for years and when they dropped their debut EP Me And My Broken Heart in March it blew up. IGGY AZALEA JUMPS FROM CLEANING HOUSES TO CLEANING UP THE CHARTS!

Not that long ago Iggy Azalea was a high school dropout who was cleaning houses full time. Now she is dropping dope raps and spittin’ sick rhymes in the male-dominated world of hip-hop. Iggy is EVERYWHERE  Preforming on the Billboard Music Awards, on every talk show known to man and the most mainstream show of all time: Dancing With The Stars. Just last week Forbes did a piece on her titled Hip Hop Is Run By A White, Blond Australian Women.  Well… there are a LOT of talented women in Hip Hop, one of whom is Nicki Minaj, whose third studio album, incidentally, is set to drop the end of this year. I can’t wait for that one! Anyway...a-ppar-ent-ly  Miss Minaj had a few choice words for Forbes saying : "All Forbes needs to worry about is my finances and when I'm going to be selling Myx Fusions for $250 million". And Nicki wasn’t the only one not lovin’ that headline.  Surprise!!! Forbes changed the title to: Hip Hop’s Unlikely New Star: A White, Blonde, Australian Woman.

This unlikely new star owns the #2 & 3 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 with Iggy’s own Fancy featuring Charli XCX and Ariana Grande’s Problem which features her Iggyness. I’m getting ready to re-invent both of those tracks with HK remixes that are no Problem and wicked Fancy! I’ll also be stirring up the beats on Jason Derulo – Talk Dirty, American Authors – Best Day Of My Life, Rixton – Me And My Broken Heart, DJ Snake & Lil Jon – Turn Down For What and much much more!

CRAZY STUPID WEEK IN MUSIC!

As Prince said…"Let's Get Crazy". Although, I don't think he had the following in mind. Shakira, who I love and has a great voice, performed her new song "Empire" (which I think is a monster hit) on The Voice. Here’s where it gets crazy…she’s a judge on a hit music competition show and she lip-synced! I'm sorry people, but that just doesn't send the right message to contestants and viewers alike. Especially when this little pint sized momma can sing her a_ _ off. Come on…really? 

If you don't think that's crazy I've got some stupid for you. An old recording engineer who worked with Jay Z back in the day tried to extort $100, 000 from the hip-hop Don. Apparently he was holding on to master recordings worth an estimated 15-20 million dollars and he reached out to cut a deal. They setup a meeting at the storage facility where the tapes were being held and the only people there to greet the would-be extortionist were the cops. Dah! Do you think the Roc-a-wear tycoon was gonna go along for that ride. No! Now the courts will decide what happens to those masters.
