KESHA GOES ON A JOYRIDE WITH HK

Many celebs have changed lyrics to their songs where they originally referenced P Diddy. Joe Jonas and Kesha to name just two. Speaking of the latter…Kesha is back with new music, and Joyride gets an HK remix this weekend.

I’m taking Kesha for a spin, along with new music from Halsey, Khalid, Gracie Abrams, and Lawrence. Plus non-stop back to back bangers from Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Jelly Roll, Coldplay, Charlie XCX and MORE.

ELTON JOHN & DUA LIPA ARE LOCKIN’ IT DOWN

What did Elton John do during 18 months of Lockdown? He was making an album of collaborations called 'The Lockdown Sessions' which is dropping this weekend. Artists with him on the set include Lil Nas X, Nicki Minaj, Charlie Puth, and Miley Cyrus to name a few. The first single off the album is his colab with Dua Lipa - Cold Heart.  It’s climbing the charts and put Elton back on the Hot 100 for the first time in twenty one years. Someone apparently was an over achiever during lockdown.

GET YOUR GROOVE ON GETAWAY™ WITH HK ON CARNIVAL VISTA

I’m always looking for fun getaways to tell you about and last week I Got My Groove On aboard The Carnival Vista! A beautiful ship, that is the newest and biggest in the Carnival fleet. If you're like me and love live music performances, picturesque ports, exciting excursions, AMAZING food, sports, comedy clubs and dancing the night away under the stars – then you'll love this In The Mix with HK ™ Get Your Groove On Getaway™.  Carnival Vista also has the only IMAX theater at sea and get this, you can even be in a Lip Sync Battle that mirrors the TV show. That's right! Spike TV has licensed the show to Carnival for their ships and this is the first one to have it. Jay Leno brought down the house with laughs, as the featured Carnival Live  performer and I'll be talking to him in this week's show about comedy, cars and divas.

Speaking of Divas (in a loving way), this week I’m gonna be putting some HK cruisin’ flava on Katy Perry’s new track plus exclusive HK remixes on Marian Hill, James Arthur, Julia Michaels, Ed Sheeran, The Chainsmokers and Coldplay. All this sun and sand has my party meter off the charts so I’m packin’ new jams from Drake, Cheat Codes, Charlie Puth, Hey Violet, and Jax Jones!

JULIA MICHAELS THE NEW-OLD "IT" GIRL

If you’re one of the many who think Julia Michael’s first single Issues is all you know of her work you’re wrong. Michaels has been writing songs since the age of 12 but in little more than 3 years she’s had 12 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, 8 which reached the Top 40 and none of which featured her voice. A few of the songs this 23 year old penned are Justin Bieber’s Sorry, Hailee Steinfeld’s Love Myself,  Fifth Harmony’s All in My Head and Selena Gomez’s Hands To Myself. Michael’s says her song Issues  pushed her to become a solo artist. Saying: “ I wrote it after a fight I had with my boyfriend, I just felt uncomfortable having someone else sing such a personal song of mine.” It hit too close to home to pass it along to another artist.

I don’t think you’ll have any “Issues” with this weekend’s show. It’s gonna be lit with custom HK remixes on Bruno Mars, Zayn, Ed Sheeran, Kygo & Selena, The Chainsmokers featuring Coldplay and so much more. Plus new bangers from Harry Styles, Lady Gaga and Imagine Dragons.

Remember…if it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix with HK™.

NIALL HORAN IS GOING HIS OWN DIRECTION

Irish crooner Niall Horan is going his own direction…well, for a little while anyway. Just when we were thinking One Direction bandmate Harry Styles was going to drop some solo beats, Niall banged his out first. Recently, Horan released his surprise solo single This Town and it’s clear he hasn’t left his acoustic ballad skills behind with 1D. But that’s not all Niall’s been up to, he inked a deal with Capitol Records and he’s written all the songs for his first album. Saying that come November he’ll be locked in a studio recording vocals, guitars and all the rest. Horan hopes to have his debut album out early next summer.

I can’t wait to add a few tricks & treats to Niall’s new track. Plus we’ll get the Halloween weekend festivities started with exclusive HK remixes on Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, Twenty One Pilots, Coldplay, Rihanna, the Biebs, and so much more! I'm also gonna revisit Mike Posner's hit and you'll swear YOU took a pill in Ibiza. Plus brand new jams and my PICK TO HIT™. It’s a Boo Bangin’ party jam you don’t wanna miss!

Remember…if it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix with HK™.

ALESSIA CARA IS "HERE" IN THE MIX WITH HK™

Alessia Cara is the 20 year old Canadian singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist who is suddenly everywhere and this weekend she’ll be over “Here” on In The Mix with HK™! Here was the first original song Alessia ever wrote and released. It racked up 50,000 plays in 24 hours and elevated to the top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100! Alessia penned that wallflower anthem about a party she attended in her friend’s basement. She says “I felt small and uncomfortable so I asked my mum to come get me”. Glad she stayed long enough to get the whole experience and change her life forever! Alessia tells us a lot more about how that song came to be and her latest track Scars To Your Beautiful.

I can’t wait to share my custom remix of Scars To Your Beautiful. Also coming up in this week’s show are exclusive HK remixes on one of Alessia's previous touring mates Coldplay. Plus Lady Gaga, Twenty One Pilots, Zara Larsson and Ariana Grande. I’ll be bangin’ new beats from Bruno Mars, Bastille and Frenship. And, I plan on crackin' your cranium with a few HK surprises on some old favorites!

Remember…if it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix with HK™.

WHO IS ZARA LARSSON?

Zara Larsson is the 18 year old Swedish singer and songwriter with a voice described as somewhere between Rihanna and Lorde. Zara’s big break came at the age of 10 when she won the Swedish version of Got Talent. Since then she’s inked a record deal, had a triple –platinum single and several top 10 hits at home. But Ms. Larsson's song Never Forget You (featuring MNEK) is what really made noise for her in the US. She continues to bring the goods as a featured artist on Tinie Tempah’s hot new single Girls Like.

This weekend I like what I'm cueing up for your all-out party jam. Get ready cause your speakers will be boomin' with my exclusive HK remixes on, Alessia Cara, Justin Bieber, Fifth Harmony, Meghan Trainor and Coldplay. Plus new bangers from Nick Jonas, Mike Posner, X Ambassadors and so much more!

SIA GETS RICH FROM CHEAP THRILLS

Drake’s One Dance has been camped out as the #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart since May (10 weeks). Sia’s smash hit, Cheap Thrills that features Sean Paul, knocked Drake off the throne with her ode to a low cost night out. Making this the first time Sia has worn the #1 crown as an artist and Paul’s fourth time at the top in more than 10 years. It could have just as easily been Rihanna looking down from the tower. Rihanna’s manager had asked Sia to write another Diamonds. Sia sent Cheap Thrills to the Rihanna camp but they passed on it. Here's where I get to brag and say I told you so (why does that feel so good. LOL!). Over six months ago I wrote a blog about Sia's new album consisting of songs that she wrote for other artists and all had been rejected. I went on to say…their loss would be Sia's gain! And here she is six months later with the #1 song in the country!

This week I’m putting Sia’s #1 song on In The Mix with HK™ with an exclusive HK remix just for you! I’ll also be upping the watts on hits by Shawn Mendes, Katy Perry, Flume, Fifth Harmony, Coldplay, Twenty One Pilots and so much more! Plus new jams from Major Lazer featuring Justin Bieber and Steve Aoki & Boehm featuring Walk The Moon! I’ve got your weekend party soundtrack all cued up!

Remember…if it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix with HK™.

FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND HK STYLE!

John Adams wrote that Independence Day … ought to be celebrated by pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, bells, bonfires and illuminations from one end of this continent to the other from this time forward and forever more. If President Adams were alive today I believe he would have added…and by jamming out to In The Mix with HK™ for a non-stop musical extravaganza in all American HK style! That’s right, John Adams would be getting his patriotic groove on this weekend.

In honor of our Nation’s Birthday Bash I have put together custom HK mixes and remixes on all your favorite hits. Get ready for sonic fireworks from Pink, Shawn Mendes, Daya, Selena Gomez, Coldplay, and Justin Timberlake! Plus new tracks from Kent Jones, Zara Larsson, Zayn and more! There's gonna be a special mash-up and a few other surprises. I’ve got your epic July 4^th weekend party soundtrack ready to explode! COUPLES MIX BIZ WITH PLEASURE ON IN THE MIX WITH HK™

Music and love go hand in hand and over the years there have been many a famous musical couple making hits together. From Sonny & Cher to Johnny Cash & June Carter musical romances have turned out great tunes and great tabloids. Katy Perry & John Mayer definitely had it going on. Now Gwen Stefani & Blake Shelton (FYI-on their second music power relationship) just dropped a new duet and are set to perform that track together on The Voice this Monday. But for me its Beyoncé & Jay Z that rule the romance/music collab world. Will Taylor Swift & Calvin be the next love birds to make beautiful music together and take the crown? Or will this week’s Pick To Hit™ artists, Zedd & Kesha’s True Colors turn into true romance and make them the new music power couple? I can’t wait to find out!

I REALLY can’t wait to hit the wheels of steel for your weekend party soundtrack! On tap for this week’s In The Mix with HK™ are exclusive HK remixes on Troy Sivan, Selena Gomez, Flo Rida, and Lukas Graham. Plus new bangers from Zedd f/ Kesha, Coldplay f/Beyoncé, Pink and Daya! It’s an all-out party jam you don’t want to miss!

Remember…if it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix with HK™.

TWENTY ONE PILOTS ARE FLYING HIGH

Twenty One Pilots have come a long way from going door to door in their hometown of Columbus, Ohio handing out tickets to their gigs. When that got to be a bit much the duo consisting of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun would meet their fans at a local mall’s food court. Even Joseph’s mother got into the grassroots movement hawking tickets to Ohio State students outside their venues saying “Come see my son play music”.

Twenty One Pilots hard work has paid off. Their rock rap throwback Stressed Out, that I CAN NOT get out of my head, is #2 this week on the Billboard Hot 100 and they recently announced a 58-date U.S. arena tour that includes two almost sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden!

I have the ultimate stress reliever for you this weekend. A non-stop party on In The Mix with HK™! Get ready to turn it up for exclusive HK remixes on Coldplay, Adele, Justin Bieber, Twenty One Pilots, Borns and more! Plus new joints from Kygo featuring Parson James, and Zara Larsson & MNEK. Just when you think your woofers are gonna blow, I’ll be unleashing a surprise reworked classic you don’t want to miss! It’s all going down right here this weekend!

Remember…if it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix with HK™.
