SELFIES RULE ON YOUR PHONE AND ON THE CHARTS

The selfie has arguably become the greatest photographic trend of our time. Now #Selfie is also a hit song with bodacious beats and self-obsessed words by The Chainsmokers. When penning the song the duo said - "We really weren't sure if this was the most brilliant idea, or worst idea we ever had”. At #18 and climbing on Billboard’s Hot 100 looks like it was a pretty good idea to me. Amusing lyrics range from “Can you guys help me pick a filter? I don't know if I should go with XX Pro or Valencia. I wanna look tan. What should my caption be? I want it to be clever” to my favorite, “It's not even summer, why does the DJ keep on playing Summertime Sadness?”. MUSIC COUPLES = EPIC DROPS AND BREAKS

When you're composing music, epic drops and awesome breaks usually translate to a big sounding track and most likely a hit. It's certainly two very important ingredients in EDM. However, for people who make music it takes on a totally different meaning in their personal life.

This week was a perfect example.Katy Perry and John Mayer went their separate ways yet again. These two have been on and off more than a broken light switch. The thing that makes it seem weirder this time is she was just sporting an engagement ring around Valentine's Day. And, the two have been talking marriage for months. Then there's Rihanna and Drake, another on again off again couple. Apparently their on again if you judge by the on stage "grind-o-matic" they displayed at a recent Drake concert. Another stunner was the announcement Robin Thicke and his long-time wife have split. This after a year of the couple publicly speaking about how much they love one another, in the wake of the "Blurred Lines" video controversy. Of course for those of us in the biz I don't think it was a big surprise about Robin, as his lines have always been blurred.
