ONE REPUBLIC SAYS “I AIN’T WORRIED” WITH AN HK REMIX

One Republic’s latest hit, “I Ain’t Worried”, is from the soundtrack of the record breaking box office smash Top Gun: Maverick. Frontman Ryan Tedder jokes that the movie is doing all the promotion for them. “it was crazy watching it for the first time, because, basically, it’s a $200 million music video for our song,” Ryan laughs.

SO WHO IS BENNY BLANCO?

Benny Blanco’s been ridiculously successful as a producer, writer and multi-instrumentalist for years. He’s crafted a crazy amount of hit tracks including Ed Sheeran – Castle On The Hill, Justin Beiber - Love Yourself, Maroon 5 – Moves Like Jagger, Julia Michaels – Issues, Major Lazer – Cold Water, Katy Perry- California Gurls, Rihanna – Diamonds, Kesha – Tick Tok and more. Now for the first time under his own name Benny Blanco has a top 10 hit with his new single; Eastside featuring Khalid and Halsey. Although Blanco doesn’t like being in the spotlight he started thinking about becoming a solo artist to have more creative control. IN THE MIX WITH HK™ - GAME OF THRONES AND ED SHEERAN

What do In The Mix with HK™, Game of Thrones and Ed Sheeran have in common? This weekend…a lot! I'm a huge fan of the hit HBO show so I'd like to think of this weekend's broadcast as the GOT season 7 premiere party. Tune in to hear my exclusive remix of Ed’s Castle On The Hill and did you know he's making a cameo in this seasons Game Of Thrones. Apparently Ed is a huge GOT fan too and Maisie Williams, the Arya Stark actor, is a big fan of the British crooner. ED says of the role “I sing a song and then (Arya) goes, “Oh, that’s a nice song,” and I go, “It’s a new one”. CYRUS SISTERS GET MIXED UP ON IN THE MIX WITH HK™

There’s certainly no lack of talent in the Cyrus family. Maybe it was inevitable for Noah Cyrus to follow in her 24 year old sister Miley, 28 year old brother Trace (a member or the pop-rock band Metro Station) and her country artist father, Billy Ray’s footsteps. At just 17, Noah is making noise in the music biz and ready to drop her debut album NC-17 (love the title) this fall. Miley’s next album is also due out later this year. The sisters are close but Noah looks set to step out of her super-star sister’s shadow.

TWO DYNAMIC DUOS OF EPIC PROPORTION!

There have been loads of talented two man groups over the years. But it’s been more than 31 years since two musical duos took the top spots on the preeminent of charts - the Billboard Hot 100. This week The Chainsmokers hold at #1 with Closer and Twenty One Pilots have jumped up to the #2 spot with Heathens . Making this feat even more certifiable is that The Chainsmokers are also sitting at #5 with Don’t Let Me Down and Twenty One Pilots have climbed to #6 with Ride. Too have such incredible, simultaneous success from the same two acts and then charting back to back not once but twice in the top six is a serious epic event! Kudos to these dynamic duos!

Daya may be only 17 but she has the pipes and writing skills of a seasoned artist. Billboard described her as a cross between Taylor Swift and Meghan Trainor with a hint of Avril Lavigne. I describe her as the next big thing.

Daya slammed into the music scene with her debut single, Hide Away, that has now gone platinum. Then came the colab with The Chainsmokes, Don’t Let Me Down, that’s in the Top 10 and rising. And her new track, the empowering girl anthem, Sit Still Look Pretty, is already making noise. This week I talk with Daya about what a difference a year makes, how she got started in music, high school prom, what it’s like to work with The Chainsmokers and more!

PANIC! AT THE DISCO IS VICTORIOUS AS THIS WEEK'S PICK TO HIT™

After four studio albums Panic! At The Disco had its first No. 1 album early this year with Death Of A Bachelor. From that set comes this weeks In The Mix with HK™ Pick To Hit™: Victorious. This American band from Las Vegas has changed a lot since its beginnings in 2004. What started out as a group of four talented high school friends is now down to a one man band: Brendon Urie. This 28 year old multi-instrumentalist, writer, lead singer and recently titled husband, describes the album as his farewell to bachelordom. The single Victorious he calls “celebratory”. It’s an upbeat underdog to winner theme where the message is – the world is one big party!
