SURPRISING INFLUENCES FROM SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE ARTISTS

In a recent Rolling Stone interview Taylor Swift said Fall Out Boy's songwriting influenced her “maybe more than anyone else”. Then at a Grammy Museum Q&A Billie Eilish gave a passionate nod to Frank Sinatra saying “he changed the way we feel about music”. I can’t wait to change the feel of today’s chart toppers with pumped up exclusive HK remixes on tracks from Post MaloneEd Sheeran & KhalidNormaniLizzo, 5SOSEllie Goulding & Juice Wrld, Marshmello & Kane Brown, Shawn Mendes, and of course Billie Eilish. JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE IS REMIXED AND BLOWIN' UP ON IN THE MIX WITH HK

Justin Timberlake has been all over the news. Kinda like Miley but different. First, did he get hair plugs or didn’t he? Then, JT is postponing his 20/20 Experience World Tour launch. It's now been set for Nov. 6 in Brooklyn NY rather than Montreal. Reason given was “more time is needed for rehearsals”. Would a little more rehearsal time have helped his box office flop “Runner Runner”? Don’t think so!. Still, JT probably isn’t sweating that flick when he is busy making room on his mantel for a potential 5 new American Music Awards (to be handed out on Nov. 24th). Or, when The 20/20 Experience - 2 of 2 gives JT his second #1 album of 2013. With 2.7 million copies sold in the US and 4.75 million in Worldwide sales, JT has now become the #1 Best-Selling Artist of the year!  Which brings us to my blazin’, jacked up, not to be missed remix of JT’s “Holy Grail”.

Tune into In The Mix with HK this weekend for JT like you've never heard him before. Also on tap are my bangin’ remixes on the brand new smoker from Enrique Iglesias – “Heart Attack”, The Wanted – “We Own The Night”, Imagine Dragons – “On Top of The World”, Capital Cities – “Safe And Sound”, Lana Del Rey – “Summertime Sadness” and Awolnation – “Sail”! Then just when you think you’ve hit the top… I’m pushing you over the edge with customized HK eargasms on EminemDrakeZeddBritneyPittbull and more!

I'M GONNA SHUT IT DOWN!

So let me get this right…the people who run our government don't have to go to work cause they can't agree on a spending bill. Yet, when all is said and done – after days and possibly weeks off they'll strike an agreement and pay themselves retroactively. Plus keep those amazing government health plans. Yeah that's right! And it's all paid for by you and me. Wouldn't it be great if you got paid to stay home when you couldn't agree with your co-workers! Wait…that's crazy…and exactly my point. Hmmm, PEOPLE – why do we continue to let this happen. Speak out and contact your politicians.

In protest I'm gonna shut it down this weekend. But don't worry, that's a good thing! I'm gonna "Roar" with my latest remix of Katy Perry. We're gonna feel like "Royals" with Lorde and we'll console each other about our "Summertime Sadness" and impending "Sweater Weather". I'm hoping to make us all feel a little bit "Closer" and "I Wish" I could keep it going "All Night". There will be a point in the evening where you'll say to yourself "What Now" HK. Don't worry you're not going "Berzerk". The "Demons" in Washington will get this resolved and once again all will be "Safe and Sound".

So tune in this weekend and find out what all the "Applause" is about.

SHERYL CROW, THE SUMMER SET AND HK GLAM IT UP!

Every summer there's a handful of cities waiting for the red carpet to roll out at Macy's Glamorama. This year the show takes place in Minneapolis, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. There's a different theme each year, but they always feature various fashion designers and great music. The music is almost always a knockout via live performances and pre-recorded mash-ups. This is a high-brow marketing blitz put on to highlight Macy's upcoming fall fashions, but it's really a power-packed night of music, entertainment, fashion and a blowout after party – all in the name of local charities in each city where the show takes place.

This year's headliner is Sheryl Crow with additional performances from Cirque Du Soleil and The Summer Set. In previous years the fashion always took center stage while the big star performances we're almost non-existent. Meaning you went to see your fave artist but only heard one or two songs. I'm happy to say this year felt very different. With Sheryl Crow performing four great songs ( a mini concert for Glamorama) and Cirque Du Soleil sprinkled throughout, this year's show was way more entertaining without sacrificing the fashion aspects and mission statement.

If you live in one of these cities get out and support this great event.

And, just like the red-hot rooftop after party at Glam – it's gonna get mad crazy this weekend when you're IN THE MIX WITH HK. I've got brand new custom HK remixes on Ke$haNikki WilliamsBonnie Mckee,Maroon 5Macklemore & Ryan LewisMiley CyrusPitbullDaft Punk and Lana Del Rey. Plus I'm gonna take a classic and re-work it into a mind blowing sonic experience. There's way to many surprises to talk about here, so do yourself a favor and don't miss a single minute.

KATY PERRY & MORE ANTICIPATION IN THE MIX WITH HK

If you're like me – when the DJ in the club is starting to mix out of the current song, the anticipation in me and on the floor builds as your ears and brain digest the musical layers.  You're trying to decipher that next sonic blast and then POW…there it is! This week news of Katy Perry's next album "Prism", due in the fall, came out and her first single entitled "Roar" is set to drop August 9. Now I don't know about you, but I've got mad anticipation for new music from Katy and here's why. After 3 years since the release of her last album, a gazillion hits and tieing Michael Jackson's record for the most #1 songs off of one album – Katy and her record label must be in serious stress mode about now. And just to complicate matters even more, Bonnie Mckee – an extremely talented singer-songwriter who co-wrote all of Katy Perry's hits, has her new hit single out "American Girl". And guess what…it sounds just like a Katy Perry record. So you see why I'm waiting with eager anticipation. I can't wait to hear what her new material sounds like.

That's exactly the kind of anticipation you might experience this weekend when your In The Mix with HK. I've got a bevy of bangin' new beats and killer HK remixes on all your fave hits! I promise multiple eargasms with the likes of Daft Punk - "Get Lucky", Capital Cities - "Safe and Sound", Maroon 5 - "Love Somebody" and Nikki Williams – "Glowing". There's even more sonic pleasure to leave you glowing when I put the HK touch to KarminMacklemore & Ryan LewisCalvin Harris & Ellie GouldingAnna Kendrick and Jason Derulo. Plus brand spankin' new jams from Demi Lovato – "Made In The USA", Lana Del Rey - "Summertime Sadness", Enrique Iglesias - "Turn The Night Up" and Krewella's new banger "Live For The Night".

FAMILY AND MUSIC!

This week I have family from out of town visiting with me. We all went to see The Package Tour together and while there, they got to share in the whole pre-show backstage and post show tour bus excitement. They got to watch and learn while I was doing an interview and they were blown away when they saw how much work goes into producing and remixing all the songs played each week. These personal family music experiences made me think about musical families in the biz. For instance, going way back you had the Osmond Family, the Jackson Family and Sonny & Cher (husband & wife). Christina Aguilera was married to her label A&R Executive, Jessica & Ashlee Simpson were managed by their father,Beyonce' was managed by her dad and all her fashions were designed by her mom. Miley Cyrus was first introduced to the world by her than successful dad Billy RayTaylor Swift's family uprooted their whole life to move to Nashville just so she could pursue her dreams and Bruno Mars musical genius comes from performing at a young age with a very musical family. I know these examples are just the tip of the iceberg but when my family is hanging out in the studio with me this weekend, I'll be thinking of all these people and the power of family and music!

Come play in my sonic sandbox In The Mix with HK! I'm bringing the summer heat with brand new HK remixes on Fifth Harmony - "Miss Movin' On", David Guetta/Ne-Yo/Akon - "Play Hard",Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - "Can't Hold Us" and the latest thumper from Britney Spears - "Ooh La La". I've also got the scintillating Lana Del Rey - "Summertime Sadness", Tegan & Sara - "Closer", Bruno Mars - "Treasure" and Austin Mahone - "What About Love". There's gonna be more audio excitement with my re-imagined mixes on Miley CyrusKarminFlorida-Georgia LineBonnie McKeeCapital CitiesParamore and more!

BRUNO MARS & ELLIE GOULDING IN THE MIX WITH HK

If you've never seen Bruno Mars or Ellie Goulding live, pick up the phone right now and order your tickets for what is probably one of the best shows you'll ever see. Ellie did a great job of bringing her infectious blend of dance, pop and alternative to the live stage and it was one of the best responses from an audience I've ever for an opening act. Technically that's what she is on this bill, but for the audience it feels more like a double headline act with all of her hits and the generous light and sound show she had. Bruno was old school meets new. His love and upbringing on old classics shines through not only in his songwriting but definitely in his live show. He has the voice, moves, swagger, comfort and ease of a superstar, yet modestly chooses to hang back and just be one of the guys in the band. And speaking of that band…WOW! Tight as the skin on a drum. These guys play, move and sing together like a well oiled sports car. It's like Earth, Wind  Fire vs The E Street Band. Bruno is hands down one of the best singer, songwriter, artists, performers out there today!

Join me In The Mix with HK to hear what I've done to Bruno's - "Treasure" and Ellie's - "I Need Your Love". I'll also put my sonic glaze to the latest from Jason DeruloMaroon 5Capital CitiesDaft PunkParamoreEd Sheeran and Lana Del Rey. Plus special HK eargasms on Ke$ha - "Crazy Kids", Britney Spears - "Ooh La La", Demi Lovato - "Heart Attack", Mariah Carey/Miguel - #Beautiful and Rihanna/David Guetta - "Right Now". It's all non-stop commercial free music sets, so get your blast of ear candy this weekend.
