GRAMMY NOMINEES ARE IN THE MIX WITH HK

The Recording Academy is an organization that shows love for the music community in a multitude of ways all year long. But, on Sunday January 26^th it is all about the Grammys and celebrating (as they say) artistic achievement, technical proficiency and overall excellence in the recording industry. 

Being a long time voting member of the Academy plus a previous Grammy nominee I take the Grammy Awards very seriously.  Marking my ballot took a lot of time and was a difficult task since there are so many great artists and songs in the running. Record of the Year is a down and dirty tight race and I would love to know who you think should win. The nominees are:  "Get Lucky"- Daft Punk, "Radioactive"- Imagine Dragons, "Royals"- Lorde, "Locked Out Of Heaven" - Bruno Mars, and "Blurred Lines" - Robin Thicke f/T.I & Pharrel.

I'm kicking off my Grammy weekend party on In The Mix with HK and I'll be featuring brand spankin' new remixes on many of the nominated artists like Bruno Mars, Robin Thicke, Katy Perry, Lorde, Sara Bareilles and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

THIS WEEK IN THE MIX WITH HK!

WOW! What a crazy week. Our government continues to fail us, while we continue to pay them. Kanye and Jimmy Kimmel have a very strange face-off and reconciliation…kind of, sort of! My old friend Coolio ("Gangsta's Paradise") hangs out in a London dorm room and cooks and jams for college students after a concert. Bruce Jenner gets out of his marriage and crazy life with the Kardashians. Mariah Carey tweets a picture of her twins, and I'm not talking about her kids, to hubby Nick Cannon and the world to see. Joe Jonas disses Lorde on Twitter and then he and the rest of his brothers cancel their just recently announced concert tour! 

I'm gonna do my best to bring some sanity to a week of craziness by unleashing my musical mayhem this weekend. LORDE RULES IN THE MIX WITH HK

Ella Yelich-O’Connor better known by her stage name Lorde is blowin’ up on the music scene. This sixteen year old singer-songwriter from New Zealand has already drawn comparisons to Lana Del Rey and Grimes. She also just took the #1 spot on Billboard's Digital chart with “Royals” and her debut album “Pure Heroine” is about to drop. There’s a whole lotta buzz about Lorde’s talent and potential staying power. Do you think this little Kiwi is going to be shaking things up for years to come? Hit me up with your thoughts.
