MAKO NABS THIS WEEK'S PICK TO HIT™

Logan Light and Alex Seaver make up the unlikely duo Mako. Before becoming half of Mako Alex attended Juilliard School as a musician on a full scholarship, performed at Carnegie Hall and embarked upon scoring for film and television. Logan pursued the art of DJ’ing and opened for some of dance music’s biggest international acts, including Tiesto and Avicii. In 2011 the two artists from contrasting backgrounds were introduced by Light’s Father. He and Seaver’s Dad were roommates some 36 years earlier at Syracuse University. Soon after Logan and Alex found their radically different musical worlds collide (in a good way) as they started writing original material together. This week I’m featuring their latest track Smoke Filled Room as my Pick To Hit™!

On this weeks In The Mix with HK™ I’m gonna fill your room with all your favorite hits like you’ve never heard them before! Get ready for custom HK remixes on Walk The Moon, Little Mix, Zedd featuring Jon Bellion, and A Great Big World featuring Futuristic. FOURTH OF JULY HK STYLE!

John Adams wrote that Independence Day … ought to be celebrated by pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, bells, bonfires and illuminations from one end of this continent to the other from this time forward and forever more. If President Adams were alive today I believe he would have added…and by jamming out to In The Mix with HK™ for a non-stop musical extravaganza in all American HK style! That’s right, John Adams would be getting his patriotic groove on this weekend.

In honor of our Nation’s Birthday Bash I have put together custom HK mixes and remixes on all your favorite hits. CELEB CAMEOS RULE MUSIC VIDEOS

Last month it was Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood music video with her besties. Now Madonna drops the B**** I’m Madonna video with Katy Perry, Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Rita Ora, Chris Rock and more. This has been happening since music videos came into existence. Another recent example…Tom Hanks had more camera time than Carly Rae Jepsen in her video. Scarlet Johansson turned it out for Justin Timberlake and Ben Stiller showed up in a P Diddy joint. What’s your fave music video with a killer cameo? My hands down favorite celeb in a music video (it is a serious must see)….wait for it.…Christopher Walken in Fat Boy Slim’s Weapon Of Choice.

I'll be pulling out all my weapons of choice this weekend with EXCLUSIVE HK remixes on Sia, Rachel Platten, Adam Lambert, Calvin Harris, Jason Derulo, Walk The Moon, MKTO and so much more!.

TAYLOR SWIFT THINKS THINGS ARE MOVING TO FAST!

Is it me or does it seem like singles are being released at lightning speed lately? Proof of that is the recent rumor over what Taylor Swift’s next single off her mondo selling album 1989 will be. Next single, really??? Bad Blood has barely dropped. Taylor’s reaction: “I don’t even know what the next single is yet !! Let’s all take deep breaths in and out and watch Bad Blood again on Vevo”. She must be thinking S*** it took me forever to make that video and they want another one already? Taylor’s first four tracks from 1989 are all currently charting in the top 40. Not long ago a label would wait for a song to fall off the chart before releasing the next one. A great album would provide singles for what seemed like years. Giving the artist a break to tour, write new music, work their magic in the studio for their next album or have a life. Now we want our beats fast and furious. Today labels are trying to make a buck in a digital landscape and artists are under more pressure than ever to deliver the hits at rapid fire speed!

I'll be mixing and remixing the hits with rapid speed and dexterity this weekend in my EXCLUSIVE HK sets! Adam Lambert, Walk The Moon, The Police, David Guetta, Ariana Grande, Sia and even the Biebs all get a sonic reworking. Plus new tracks from OMI, Zedd, Major Lazer, Jeremih, Flo Rida and Avicii.

Remember…If it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix with HK™.

EXCLUSIVE RACHEL PLATTEN INTERVIEW

The first thing that hit me about Rachel Platten is her contagious energy, wicked good humor and ability to make you feel like a lifelong friend in two minutes. You may have just been introduced to Rachel via her Columbia Records debut Fight Song but she has been writing songs and pounding the music biz pavement for ten years with a dream that she refused to give up on. From moving to NYC, finding bands on Craigslist to perform with, temping during the day, gigging until 4am and the daily lugging of an 80-pound keyboard to her 5th floor walk-up she’s certainly had her share of musical dues paying. Rachel said… “I felt crazy sometimes that I still believed in myself when there were no signs that I should”. Well the signs are glaring now and all that fighting is paying off. This week I talk with Rachel about comic radio run ins, the meaning behind her hit single and more!

I’ve also got more beats, more bangers and more of your fave hits like you've never heard them before! Get ready for custom HK remixes on Walk The Moon, Sia, Jason Derulo, Ellie Goulding, Nick Jonas, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Tove Lo, Adam Lambert, Fall Out Boy, Taylor Swift, OMI and that’s just gettin’ the party started.

Remember…If it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix with HK™.

ANDY GRAMMER TALKS MUSIC, TEMPTATION & MORE ON IN THE MIX WITH HK

Andy Grammer has come a long way since using his car battery to power his amp and acoustic guitar while street performing. The Platinum selling singer-songwriter's latest Top 40 hit Honey I’m Good is climbing the charts and his current album Magazines Or Novels hit 27 on Billboards 200 Album Chart. This week he’ll be talking with us about temptations on the road, his love of performing and what life-altering event may be in his future!

This weekend your future is party bound with non-stop exclusive mixes of all your faves, some classics and brand new bangers you don’t want to miss! I’ve got the decks locked and loaded with custom HK remixes on Mark Ronson, Sam Smith, Jason Derulo, Flo Rida, Walk The Moon and so much more!

NEW ARTISTS AND NEW HITS ON IN THE MIX WITH HK™

There’s a crop of new artists that are dropin’ bodacious beats like a needle on a Technics SL1200mk2!  Walk The Moon, Life Of Dillion, Lunchmoney Lewis (you gotta love that name) and Tori Kelly are all about to detonate your speakers and are all featured in this weeks In The Mix with HK™!

The Cincinnati based Indie Rockers that make up Walk The Moon have been around since 2008. They made noise on the Alternative side but Shut Up And Dance is what pushed them into Pop status. And that track has no signs of stalling. From the other side of the pond, two brothers Robert and Joe Griffin with their friend and founder David Keiffer make up the trio Life Of Dillion. The London based group got their name from an interesting stranger named Dillon who they met while visiting Brazil. Does he get royalty checks? They’ve got their own serious vibe goin’ with Overload. Look for their first album to drop soon. Florida native Lunchmoney Lewis and his catchy comedic hit Bills is laughing its way up the charts. A musical family never hurts. Lewis’s father and Uncle helped found the group Inner Circle of Bad Boys fame. Just saying the title of that song will have it stuck (bad boys bad boys whatcha gonna do) in my head for hours. Then there’s songwriter, singer  and multi- instrumentalist Tori Kelly who has been at it for a while and didn’t give up. She was on Star Search at 10 and America’s Most Talented Kids. She tried out but never made the cut for American Idol. I bet Simon Cowell wishes he signed Tori now that her single Nobody Love is blowing up!

I'll be blowin’ up your system this weekend, so tune in and turn it up!

Remember…if it's hot, if it's new and it makes you wanna move…you're In The Mix with HK™.
