BLACKBEAR WANTS TO COLLAB WITH WHO?

As a singer, songwriter, musician, producer, Matthew Musto, known as blackbear, has many hits and successful collabs. From Machine Gun Kelly’ s single “My Ex’s Best Friend” to All Time Low’s “Monsters” and a little diddy he did with Justin Bieber called “Boyfriend” and “Beautiful Mistakes” with Maroon 5. I know…It’s crazy right! Blackbear has a long list of more artists he wants to collab with but one continues to evade him. Musto says he keeps sending BTS songs and they keep saying no. Still, he remains hopeful that one day he and BTS will collaborate. Stating he’s a huge fan and part of their ARMY.

BEBE REXHA IS NOT MESSIN' AROUND

Bebe’s latest smash, “I’m A Mess”, is climbing up the charts. Rexha says her inspiration behind it was finding out on Instagram that a guy she really liked was dating another girl. The very same day she had a session with songwriter Justin Tranter. Upon arriving to the studio Bebe said “I’m sorry but I’m a mess”. Tranter responded “Really? That’s perfect. That’s the name of the song”. Rexha said they wrote the track in literally two hours. “And the second I heard my voice on the record, I just knew it was magic”.

J Balvin wants to have a huge pop single sung completely in Spanish. This hasn’t happened since 1986 when Los Lobos had a #1 hit with “La Bamba”. Balvin may be on his way with “I Like It” (sung partially in Spanish) by Cardi B with Balvin and Bad Bunny. Balvin says “I wanna make history, I wanna tell my kids, one day when I have them…’Yo, I did this”. Another thing he can tell his kids about is being the subject of YouTube’s documentary series ‘Artist Spotlight Story: Redefining Mainstream”, out this week. Balvin has garnered 5 Billion (yeah that’s with a B) views on YouTube in 2018 alone. Congrats go out to J for his success.

WHO IS BAZZI

The 20 year old Michigan native, Bazzi has a certified Platinum hit with his breakthrough single Mine. He started in the biz by posting songs on YouTube then moved to LA to pursue his music career and…oh yeah…finish high school. Bazzi’s talents don’t stop at singing and songwriting though, he says “I’ve been playing guitar since I was 6, and then drums, bass and piano since I was 10 years old.” His debut album Cosmic  just dropped and he plays instruments on all of the albums 16 tracks. Of his smash Mine, Bazzi says the melody for his slinky, love-struck confessional suddenly popped into his head while hanging out with some friends at a pool party and he went to the studio two days later to record it. Apparently I need to spend more time at the pool.

HALSEY'S STAR POWER IS GETTING AMPED UP

Sony Pictures just locked up a life rights deal with singer/songwriter Halsey. Their plan is for Halsey to star in a movie loosely based on her life. Will this do for her what 8 Mile did for Eminem? That’s yet to be seen but if you can’t wait to check out Halsey’s acting skills you can catch her on the big screen in the upcoming Bradley Cooper-directed A Star Is Born dropping in October.

Bruno Mars took home 7 Grammys earlier this year and Cardi B was nominated for 2 of those little record players. The love just keeps coming for this musical wizard and sometimes controversial rapper. Their smash hit, Finesse has topped the Pop Songs chart, giving Mars his ninth #1 while setting a new record for most number-ones on that chart by a male solo artist. Finesse has also added another platinum project to Bruno and Cardi B’s collection as it was just certified not 1 but 2x Platinum! I don’t know how their celebrating but I’m pretty sure Cardi B will be popping another cork next week when she drops her debut album Invasion Of Privacy.
