NICK JONAS GOES HOLLYWOOD WITH A SIDE OF BACON

Nick Jonas may have just turned 24 but he has, what some would consider, a lifetime of accomplishments and a whole lot goin’ on. He’s recently wrapped up his acclaimed Future Now Tour with Demi Lovato in LA, performed his latest track Bacon on The VMA’s and The Late Late Show with James Corden. Just Monday Jonas attended the New York premier for the new James Franco-produced film Goat (opening this weekend), which he stars in and word is he gave an outstanding performance. What’s next for this singer/songwriter, guitarist, drummer, keyboardist, actor? He’s is off to Hawaii to start shooting Jumanji with Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart. Despite Nick’s love for acting he says that music is still his passion.

This week on In The Mix with HK™ I’m putting my passion to work by adding a little flavor to Jonas’s single, Bacon and that’s just the beginning to my musical buffet! Get ready for exclusive HK remixes on Rihanna, Calvin Harris, X Ambassadors and Lukas Graham. Plus new bangers from Fifth Harmony, Jason Derulo, Ariana Grande, Zara Larsson and so much more. It’s the first weekend of Fall and your favorite hits are gonna be fallen to a brand new beat!

TWENTY ONE PILOTS GET IN THE MIX WITH HK™

Hot off their album Blurryface going platinum, a 2016 MTV Video Music Awards nomination for Heathens and Billboard contributing writer Sean Ross (from Ross on Radio) naming Ride “The Song Of Summer”-Tyler and Josh of Twenty One Pilots join HK to discuss their album, and what it was like writing Heathens for the Suicide Squad movie soundtrack and more. Blurryface has propelled this little two man powerhouse into the mainstream with a fierce fan base. Rolling Stone calls them “the biggest group to break out in the past year, also one of the hardest-to-categorize hit acts in recent memory.” Oh yeah, they've also been selling out arenas all over the country including two sold-out nights next week at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Tune in this weekend to check out my pimped out "Ride" when I put my spin on Twenty One Pilots hit track plus exclusive HK remixes on OneRepublic, Pink, Lukas Graham, Meghan Trainor, Nick Jonas, Drake and more! My two turntables are gonna be "Just Like Fire" so lock it in!

"THIS GIRL" IS THIS WEEK'S PICK TO HIT™

This Girl is Kungs reworking of a Cookin’ On 3 Burners song. The track has gone #1 on the French and German charts, #2 on the UK Singles Chart and this week it’s the Pick To Hit™ on In The Mix with HK™. Kungs, born Valentin Brunel, is a French DJ, record producer and musician. His musical interest was sparked at the age of five when he received a djembe as a gift from his parents. Which may explain the esoteric feel of his music. At 17 he began creating melodies using his own instruments. In 2014 Kungs began recording and uploading his bootleg mixes and by 2016 he opened for David Guetta’s European tour and recorded This Girl. Hear it this week On In The Mix with HK™ and hit me back with your thoughts.

In The meantime I’ll be hittin’ you up with exclusive HK remixes on Daya, Charlie Puth featuring Selena Gomez, Shawn Mendes, Pink, Calvin Harris featuring Rihanna and others. There're also new tracks from Lukas Graham, Zayn and Clean Bandit! And that's just getting the party started! I’ll be dropping the needle on all your favorite hits!

HK TALKS WITH DAYA - THIS WEEK ON IN THE MIX WITH HK™

Daya may be only 17 but she has the pipes and writing skills of a seasoned artist. Billboard described her as a cross between Taylor Swift and Meghan Trainor with a hint of Avril Lavigne. I describe her as the next big thing.

Daya slammed into the music scene with her debut single, Hide Away, that has now gone platinum. Then came the colab with The Chainsmokes, Don’t Let Me Down, that’s in the Top 10 and rising. And her new track, the empowering girl anthem, Sit Still Look Pretty, is already making noise. This week I talk with Daya about what a difference a year makes, how she got started in music, high school prom, what it’s like to work with The Chainsmokers and more!

MORE is what we have on tap for you this week on In The Mix with HK™! More of your favorite hits like your never heard them before, more HK remixes and more reasons to turn up the volume! In addition to my backstage interview with Daya, get ready for exclusive HK remixes on Lukas Graham, Fifth Harmony, Jason Derulo, Ariana Grande and Mike Posner! Plus new jams from Meghan Trainor, Adele, One Republic, Ellie Goulding and others. There’s a party over here and it’s all going down right here this weekend!

COUPLES MIX BIZ WITH PLEASURE ON IN THE MIX WITH HK™

Music and love go hand in hand and over the years there have been many a famous musical couple making hits together. From Sonny & Cher to Johnny Cash & June Carter musical romances have turned out great tunes and great tabloids. Katy Perry & John Mayer definitely had it going on. Now Gwen Stefani & Blake Shelton (FYI-on their second music power relationship) just dropped a new duet and are set to perform that track together on The Voice this Monday. But for me its Beyoncé & Jay Z that rule the romance/music collab world. Will Taylor Swift & Calvin be the next love birds to make beautiful music together and take the crown? Or will this week’s Pick To Hit™ artists, Zedd & Kesha’s True Colors turn into true romance and make them the new music power couple? I can’t wait to find out!

I REALLY can’t wait to hit the wheels of steel for your weekend party soundtrack! On tap for this week’s In The Mix with HK™ are exclusive HK remixes on Troy Sivan, Selena Gomez, Flo Rida, and Lukas Graham. Plus new bangers from Zedd f/ Kesha, Coldplay f/Beyoncé, Pink and Daya! It’s an all-out party jam you don’t want to miss!

Rihanna’s track Work featuring Drake has captured the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 for 7 weeks in a row! When those two get together two things always happen, the music is on point and the romance rumors fly. Their on again off again relationship always has us guessing. One thing that is without question is that the Work video is steaming HOT! Do you think it's good acting or have Rihanna and Drake hooked up again? Check it out right here and hit me up with your thoughts! Then check out the slammin’ custom remixes I’m cueing up for your weekend on In The Mix with HK™!

I’ll be workin’ the decks with exclusive HK remixes on Troye Sivan, G-Eazy & Bebe Rexha, The Chainsmokers & Daya, Lukas Graham and more! I'm also featuring new joints from some of your favorite artists and a few throwbacks totally re-imagined.

LUKAS GRAHAM HAS CATHARTIC EXPERIENCE WITH "7 YEARS"

Lukas Graham lived in Buenos Aires and New York after high school but eventually moved back to his home of Denmark to start the band which bears his name. After the unexpected loss of his father, Graham began channeling his grief through songwriting. The result of that process is 7 Years. Graham says in an interview with USA TODAY- “It was definitely cathartic to write – it’s weird to describe what it’s like to lose a parent”. Regarding fan responses to the song he says – “most are quite positive, but some people find it very sad and dispiriting, where I find it empowering. It’s supposed to give you life energy”. 7 Years has certainly resonated with many fans as it is #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. Which is perfect timing for the release of their self-titled album dropping today.

It’s been five years since posting one of the band’s first songs on YouTube but this is the year that Graham describes as “amazing”. Also amazing are my plans for remixing 7 Years this week on In The Mix with HK™.

No April foolin’ going on here just straight up jams! This week I’m featuring exclusive HK remixes on Fifth Harmony, Rihanna, Twenty One Pilots, Taylor Swift and many more. Plus brand new bangers from Melanie Martinez, Iggy Azalea and Xenia Ghali. There’s also gonna be a mind blowing re-imagined Beatles track. You heard me! And you don’t want to miss it! It’s all going down right here this weekend on In The Mix with HK™!

PANIC! AT THE DISCO IS VICTORIOUS AS THIS WEEK'S PICK TO HIT™

After four studio albums Panic! At The Disco had its first No. 1 album early this year with Death Of A Bachelor. From that set comes this weeks In The Mix with HKPick To Hit™: Victorious. This American band from Las Vegas has changed a lot since its beginnings in 2004. What started out as a group of four talented high school friends is now down to a one man band: Brendon Urie. This 28 year old multi-instrumentalist, writer, lead singer and recently titled husband, describes the album as his farewell to bachelordom. The single Victorious he calls “celebratory”. It’s an upbeat underdog to winner theme where the message is – the world is one big party!

This week I have one BIG party planned for you when I drop the needle on HK exclusive remixes of Ellie Goulding, Taylor Swift, Flo Rida, Troy Sivan, Gwen Stefani and Lukas Graham. Plus sizzling new tracks from Meghan Trainor, Fifth HarmonyCash Cash featuring Jacquie Lee, and so much more!
